Re: Making SFT'S

Nice pics! I think specialized game artists are going to be replaced by AI one of these days.

Hi Lion_of_Judah, thank you for checking. I'm working on art for other stuff right now. Maybe someday I'll come back to ATG. So many games, so little time. :)

New here. Just bought the game

Just bought TOAW IV and am looking around at different scenarios. I DL'd the Matrix Vanilla version and there was some kind of issue with the scenario folder that wouldn't let me open it. So I got the Steam key and switched to the Steam version which seems to be working OK. Maybe an update problem ...

Re: 1/144th Scale Miniatures

I'm thinking, at this small a scale and with some investment over time in money, I could create a 1:1 ratio battalion or regiment consisting of every single asset the unit had (at least on paper) in real life, both in manpower and vehicles. Maybe I could do an independent German Panzer Brigade or ...

Re: 1/144th Scale Miniatures

In side by side comparison, the more detailed print of the AGSDGAWD model is noticeable.
Actually, the Bradley is wider and taller (and heavier) than the Panzer IV.

Does the Bradley appear to be on the same scale to you as the BPM vehicles? I've never seen any of the vehicles up close IRL, to ...

Re: 1/144th Scale Miniatures

My package from Butler's Printed Models arrived today. Below is a pic comparing the 6 Butler models to one of the Bradleys' I got from AGSDGAWD. The Bradley seems to be just a shade larger in scale than the Butler's models, either that or Bradleys are a little larger than Panzer IVs IRL (especially ...

Re: 1/144th Scale Miniatures

I'm using a light grey primer, but in the end it's a matter of personal preference.
If you're only going to paint (mostly) green military models, a green primer is a good choice.

According to BPM, my order is now "complete" and is no longer in "processing". I'm not sure if that means they have ...

Re: 1/144th Scale Miniatures

- primer -> spray can
- the paint job -> regular brushes
- I would use the airbrush for applying the clear varnish

You should try washing and drybrushing techniques to add depth and highlights to the models.

What color primer do you use, just a gray color or one that is the same color as the ...

Re: 1/144th Scale Miniatures

First I clean them with warm water and a dishwashing detergent, after that they are primed (Vallejo spray can) and
painted with acrylics and regular brushes. A final coat of clear varnish won't hurt either.

So the final coat you put on with brushes, and the only spraying you do is for the ...

Before you paint them, do you put a coat of primer on them? Also, do you use an air brush, spray can, or regular brush when you paint them?

Check here if you'd like to see a ton of 1/6 scenes shot outdoors.

Wow! Where was all this stuff when I was a kid? I mostly remember 1:48, 1:35, 1:76, 1:72, and 1:285. This is like a World War II buff's dream! Especially liked the Operation Varsity photos. :D

Wow! Is that a diorama made up of 1/6 scale miniatures? It's hard to tell if it's real or miniatures.

Re: 1/144th Scale Miniatures

I think I have a new plan. Instead of stopping at the Bradleys, I may give Bulter Printed Models a try. They are sold individually or in pairs, so it's a little cheaper to buy a diverse group of vehicles than to buy packs of 5 of the same vehicle. I may get a mix of WW2 vehicles just for the heck of ...

Re: Steel Tigers?

Honestly, it's been a long time since I purchased a title from Matrix. The last game I bought was Rule the Waves 3, I think. I just don't feel much into gaming lately. I have more than a hundred games in my collection between Matrix and Steam and I'm just not much interested in gaming anymore. I ...

Re: 1/144th Scale Miniatures

I grew up in Northern VA and remember going to Tyson's Corner mall to the Hobby shop there, where I first discovered the magazine Wargamer's Digest. The very first issue I bought introduced the "Series 78 US Infantry Battalion" OOB. That was my first exposure to serious wargaming, and I loved it ...

Thank you! I look forward to the pictures. :D

Yeah, 1/144 is a really nice scale for painting, collecting and gaming.
