Beside that - some squads are able to try to rally before Melee occours. That simulates this "I fight before I die/surrender" pretty nice, doesn't it?<br/>

<t> And that is something, what someone who has a life and just want to enjoy a game doesn't do anyways - seriously: never had a game... and had some on Virtual Lock'N Load with different peoples, who started with 'every hex checks'. You do that when in doubt and that is not as often, as it might ...

RE: Upper level LOS

IF ever anyone would see a need for this in/out of season things - they could do it via SSR, huh? :)
Maybe one might even come up with dense coniferous forest: 3 MPs ... but afforested, so only 0.5 level high - blocks only at same level - whatever ;)

RE: Fire discipline

<t> Per definition, you are allowed to check LOS without penalties all the time.<br/>
<br/>
Something I personally prefer.<br/>
Anyways - both ways can be 'odd'.<br/>
Way 1 - you play with a guy who checks all important LOSs before he moves 1 hex;<br/>
Way 2 - you play with someone, who learned ...

<r> For Spotting:<br/>
Units that didn't take any action what causes attention (like firing, moving, being in melee) and in a degrading or blocking terrain - they need to be spotted before someone can harm them. <br/>

For that "adjacent" thing: If one of your units is good order and ...

You mean - change it that you need to spot units in a hex where your LOS crosses the bocage in it? No, screws up nothing.

For the game mechanics itself, it is cohesive. The unit IS in open terrein. The same, when you trace LOS through 2 degrading hexes into an open ...
