When I saw first screens a few months ago of Gary Grigsby's War in the East I was immediately in love. Especially with the UI!<br/>
For me, the UI is clear, concise and visually structured. Perhaps a bit cold and impersonal - but I like it ...

Interfaces of wargames

<r> Is it only me, or are most computer wargame interfaces a bit old (that is of traditional type boardgames not RTSes). Its almost always a top down 2D view of a map. Often ugly and slow to scroll and with only one or two magification degrees.<br/>

I think wargames could really benefit from ...

RE: Interested in any reviews

As seen on the Ageod forums this game has some "issues". But I am confident that in a month or two it will be a great game. I personally will wait until after Christmas before I buy it.

Nice

<t> I treated myself to this game for my birthday last week. Its very nice. And loads of fun. Many computer wargames are too big for my tastes but in this game you can feel that you are able to know what each unit is doing. And it also feels that you really can understand the game system. I like ...

Simpler computer wargames

<t> Me and my wargamer friend got to discuss computer wargames after we played an ATS (the Critical Hit boardgame) scenario yesterday.<br/>
<br/>
And I now feel an urge to share my thoughts [;)].<br/>
<br/>
I would like to see "simpler" games. By that I mean games that don't have too many units ...

Attacking with units from multiple hexes

Is it possible to attack a single defending hex from multiple hexes? And if so how do I select the units to accomplish this.

To call OBA

Is it OK for a leader to call OBA even though he's already meked with a move-marker (or assault move-marker, or lowcrawl-marker)?

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>ORIGINAL: Magua<br/>
It would sure be nice if a developer could step in here. In fact, the whole hexside thing is inadequately explained in the rules. I say this because it is not discussed in the rules, but only on the player's reference card, and there, the explanations ...

Offboard artillery

If I have a module of off board artillery, when is it considered that I have used it? Is it when I place the Spoting Round, or when I place the FFE marker, or is it at some other time?

LOS question

<t> The rulebook states on p 16 that "LOS must actually cross the sillhouette of the obstacle to be either blocked or degraded".<br/>
<br/>
Is it then correct that <br/>

b) I2 has LOS to K2, but with degration as there are ...

RE: Map Graphics

<r> To me the maps are way to dark. I would like to see much lighter colours especially the clear (dark grass green) hexes. And then the white around borders and dots wouldnt be necessary. But as the board looks now I fell that the white borders is a positive thing.<br/>

But then ...
