RE: Afraid of this one?

This game is worth it. One of the best strategy games around imo. If you are an old school strategy gamer you'll love it.

I disagree with you on EU3, though. ;)

I think the designers put those checks and balances to keep the game to derail too much into the realms of fantasy. Don't forget many of the main actors of the time shared blood with each other and there was a concept of balance of power that did not allow too much ...

<r> Just to echo here the words said before. Besides the designing/coding of MMP2, I have been playing CoG:EE in the last few weeks exclusively and it is such a brilliant game (8/10 barbarossa2? That's QUITE harsh! <E>;)</E> ). Teleporting out of the blue is not in line with the rest of the ...

<t> I agree with barbarossa2 the troop teleportation breaks the logic and the suspention of disbelief this game so masterfully achieves. Something more sophisticated could very well be implemented.<br/>

RE: Real time?...Turn based?

<t> It really depends. As a basis I prefer turn based games, but I think game like Harpoon, Europa Universalis or Hearts of Iron are realyl well designed for deep strategy while being real time. If course, this means the pause key is used lots of times to acess the situation and act.<br/>

<t> I think the trick to do it effectively and without too much work for you Eric, is to first pick an easy country to start with. This means fewer provinces, not at war and hopefully that can avoid war in the first 3 or 4 turns.<br/>

After this the very basic guidelines should be ...
