Re: Before I list as an issue, need opinions

Its weird because I don't remember seeing them in any version until the betas started coming out for 1.09. Could be faulty memory just as easily.

Re: Before I list as an issue, need opinions

I’m pretty sure the exclusion zone visibility changed in B1817.

I was surprised to see that in B1817 the zones are now visible at all times, whereas in earlier versions I had to open the Exclusion Zone Manager to check the boundaries.

Thats why I posted the question. Thats how I remembered it ...

Before I list as an issue, need opinions

Since at least build 1776 in exclusion zones, I don't remember having them all show up at once in colored blocks. Now all are visible. And there is no setting I can find that changes that. I might not be remembering it correctly because of all the betas, but I remember it being an option for them to ...

I would test that feature on another missile. The MST is multi-mission I thought. I assumed that means it as terrain following and antiship capability. Try an older harpoon.

Re: Expanded Submarine Descriptions

Frankly, just do it until its good enough. Its better than nothing and anyone with an issue can help clean it up. My limited audit found it to be fairly accurate for the ones I checked. Might be useful to do it for images as well.

This is what generative AI was built for. Organizing large amounts ...

Common sense would say that more has changed than just the exe.

Re: CTD when creating flight plans.

I suspect its the very tight no-nav zone requirements of the scenario. My guess is that the CPU is running out of cycles to complete the calculation for the very narrow openings in the no nav zones. Not sure if changing the settings in options would help or not.

A workaround is create a couple ...

1776. Just loaded two scenarios form the workshop They loaded and ran no issue. CMO did take a couple minutes to load the list of scenarios. My Steam directory is on a non-C drive, but in the default common directory in that drive.

Neither do I. I just feel they stunted their early growth opportunity by not using the chance to set expectations pre-EA release. I have stopped playing it though. I just don't need the micro headache right now. I'll wait until they sort out the AI and editor more.

Re: Aircraft not taking on fuel from tankers

Which side is the AAR issue showing up on? The default side is Russian. I'm assuming thats not the side you are looking at. I'm running it from 1776.

edit...found some tankers. Were there any missions set up? I'm not sure what you were trying to do. Was your refueling all manual?

Re: Aircraft not taking on fuel from tankers

I have found AAR with 1776 much more reliable. Simplification of the mission(s) is key. You can't just throw AAR assets at mission packages and then go hands-off. It takes calculating runs with ranges, loadouts, altitudes, speeds, target types and fuel loads. The more precise your own calculations ...

A pretty good perspective on simulation vs realism

This guy focuses on flight sims, with a special focus on IL-2 and DCS. But his commentary on fidelity in simulations is very good. The last five minutes are really what is applicable to CMO.
