Re: [FIXED] Build 1868: Strike missions frequently stall in Form-Up phase during normal gameplay, but work in Editor mod

Just curious if the missions were generated before or after you applied the patch. I noted that changes in logic won't be applied to existing plans, but only new ones.

Re: A constructive discussion about stability, patches and bug fixes

I've said this before, as someone that has product managed many releases of very complex software, bug fix patches should be frequent and separate releases from new feature or testing releases. On a personal note, I can wait patiently for new features for quite some time. My expectations are low for ...

Re: [1868] SA-8a shoot above ceiling

You are looking at a general description of the unit from descriptions put together by the community. The game stats are what is Nikel is showing. That is one of the most basic concepts of the game, isn't it.

Re: [1868][1877] Blank dialog and hang for ROE on waypoint

So I went back as far as 1852 and the same blank dialog issue shows up as in the current beta 1877. But there is a difference; I can move around back and forth in the tabs, as well as close out the dialog with the X button. But once you get to 1868, the dialog soft hangs CMO once you start clicking ...

[FIXED][1868][1877] Blank dialog and hang for ROE on waypoint

Any scenario, any unit, any waypoint...from what I can see in multiple builds. Right click on waypoint and open Doctrin/ROE. Dialog is blank. You can sometimes open up other tabs, but eventually the entire dialog hangs.

Re: [1877] Chaff not working in The Hunters

1868 is the latest build with working chaff. Just confirmed. Between this and the sonobouy issue, will keep 1868 in my Matrix build and leave Steam at 1877.

I follow this channel closely. Its one of my faves. His take on Dance of the Vampires is not literal as the one above. But its still interesting.

Re: [1877] Chaff not working in The Hunters

Here is the weapon end game and a few other messages from a simple Saar vs Osa in 1973. You can see the Saar ECM fails and chaff never fires.

Just double checked and watched closely. The Saar never expends a single chaff. And I added generic chaff also just to ...

[FIXED][1877] Chaff not working in The Hunters

Was trying to remake the Battle of Latakia to more align with the Boats of Cherbourg book. A year or so ago, when I ran this multiple times, The Styx never hit any Saars. I have been running this multi times over the last day with 1877. Tried it with multiple databases with no difference.

What I ...

Re: Hardware for max performance in large scenarios?

CPU raw speed. Core count helps somewhat, but fast single core is the best benchmark. Fast RAM is also a factor. Graphics power makes little difference. SSD is good for loading and accessing the database, but is a very small factor in execution.

Re: Realistic Sub Communications

A non-lua way is to use zones, events, and mission switching. I have done it a few times in limited tests. Detect a sub in a zone that triggers the event to change missions. The triggered mission is at peri depth. Set for X minutes than reengage original mission. You have to tweak it a little to ...

Re: [WAD][1868] Abilities of PIPRS sensor

Perhaps on the right panel the info should not be unknown type, but automatically classified as ASW.

Because if you detect a sonar from an air contact, it is performing ASW, is it not?

The question (my question) is does a sub that detects a far away active sonar know whether the contact is ...

Re: [1868] Abilities of PIPRS sensor

Since the PIPRS's whole reason to be is detecting active sonar pings then IDing them, I would assume its detecting the ping from a dipping sonar. And yes, if conditions are right, its plausible.

Re: The issue regarding the anti-aircraft hit rate of naval guns

"In addition, the anti-aircraft range of naval guns in the game is set quite short, at around 1.5 nm. According to known real-world data, the effective AA range of the Mk.45 gun is approximately 7,000 meters, or roughly 4 nm."

Is that the horizontal range?
