RE: CASTLES OF STEEL SCENARIO

This is AMAZING. [&o][&o][&o] Matrix needs to recruit you. Maybe more specific comments once I have the time to play through it more thoroughly.

MP Maps in Hotseat?

<t> Hi there,<br/>
<br/>
Is there any way to play the balanced multiplayer maps in hotseat? I understand if they aren't made for the AI so you don't think of them as normal skirmish maps, but some balanced variety maps would be just what the doctor ordered for the hotseat games around here.<br ...

AI Improvements?

<t> Hi folks,<br/>
<br/>
I know this may be buried too deep in the code to be changed, but is there any chance of seeing AI improvements? At this point, I think that's the most glaring problem with HCCE. The AI seems to do a very poor job of coordinating its forces (at all), setting patrols, and ...

Automated AAW results unrealistic?

<t> Hi folks,<br/>
<br/>
I just recently picked up Harpoon 3: ANW; I read enough community websites to before buying to realize it has problems, but figured it still sounded like a good sim and was worth a try. It's not nearly as intuitive as Harpoon Classic, but the tutorials got me up to speed ...

Idea: Bonus for Long-Term TF

<t> I've been re-reading accounts of WW2 surface actions over the past few days, and there's one critical element that I'm not sure is modeled in WITP (correct me if I'm wrong): the advantage of forces that have worked together and drilled together for a long time over an ad-hoc task force cobbled ...

RE: New scenarios?

<t> Well, I'd prefer they be generally available. But if a reason for not converting the UV scenarios is concern that nobody would buy UV anymore, that would be a solution; that's why I said "if necessary". <br/>

RE: New scenarios?

Bump and agree. Rather than start a new thread it seemed better to post in this one.

I think you should give serious consideration to porting the UV scenarios to AE. If necessary, make them a 'bonus' pack that's unlocked via a UV activation key or installation on the hard drive.

AI difficulty levels?

Just curious what the difference between AI difficulty levels is. If I want a fairly historical game without using 'gamey' tactics, should I use the 'historical' AI setting, or one of the higher ones?

Mods/AI + Mods/CHS Variants

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
I've been playing WPO for a while and decided to try a WITP campaign on the side as well. I have 3 questions, which I realize have probably been repeated ad infinitum but a quick search couldn't turn up something answering these, though some threads here are close:<br/>

'Y' Key Crashes

<t> Hey,<br/>
<br/>
I read the technical support thread, but my nVidia card is very modern and the old drivers referenced don't have anything for it. Is there a way to just disable this hotkey? Or is there some patch past 8.4 that helps with this?<br/>

RE: Blank Database?

<t> I think I already have Cautionaries, at least the latest publically released version which you e-mailed to me a few weeks ago [;)] Thanks for the suggestion of using it as a base. That WITPload program makes me so happy I think I could kiss you except, well, I couldn't. But it makes me happy ...

RE: WPO Wishlist

<t> Improved editor functions. Simple changes to the editor to allow variables to be changed on multiple ships at the same time and other small conveniance additions would massively improve replayability by allowing for many more user scenarios to be created much easier. While I haven't really been ...

Blank Database?

<t> Does anyone have a database for WPO with all ship slots at delay 9999 or even just deleted? As is it is nearly impossible to create a limited scenario (at least without clogging up the ship list) as all off-map ships appear on the ship list and reinforcements list unless removed from play. Or is ...

South Pacific 1928 Scenario

<t> I've been thinking of starting work on a scenario for WPO - nothing fancy, no huge changes, just something basic and within my capability. I was thinking of doing a medium sized operation, the WPO equivilant of the Guadalcanal, Rising Sun, or the South Pacific Hypothetical in WITP. I'm just ...

Changing national allegiances?

Is there a way to make a 'blanket change' in who is on each side in the scenario editor? Or if you wanted to change the sides would you have to change all opposing countries to be 'Japanese' nationality?
