RE: When?

<r> Hey Dudes. <br/>
Some of you might remember my user name. My real name's Tim, and I'm a keen WiFFE enthusiast who plays the game almost daily and who's attended both AusWiFCons, 2010 qnd 2011. I was part of an Allied Team that claimed a draw against skilled European opposition in 2010, and part ...

RE: 'Tanks in Flames'

<t> Thanks for repeating yourself Steve [8|] !<br/>
<br/>
Yes, I am indeed preoccupied with colors and unit characteristics rather than rules. I'm looking, simply, for anyone else that might be. Perhaps this is the wrong place to discuss this project though, as it has nothing to do with the ...

RE: 'Tanks in Flames'

<t> Thanks for that reply, brian. Certainly some interesting points there. I must confess to being a little confused though: you start out by describing such a proposition as being part of a 'slippery slope' and yet you draw the conclusion that there are 'avenues that could be explored' which ...

'Tanks in Flames'

<t> It's been a few years since I last contributed to this forum, but I've followed Shannon's updates with interest non the less. Let me prelude this thread by writing that we, the Melbourne (Australia) WiFFE enthusiasts - who convene weekly for the express purpose of continuing our ongoing '36-'52 ...

<t> Steve - <br/>
<br/>
I haven't contributed to this forum regularly for a long time now, partly because I'm frustrated that my busy schedule prevents me from volunteering what would be my humble but loving efforts at the counter write-ups, which I'd love to do, if I could spare the time and ...

<r> <br/>
Now <I><s></s>that's<e></e></I> interesting to consider. A successful CW invasion (or DoD alignment) of Norway. Would such a thing be necessary though? In WiFFE, doesn't Germany lose all the swedish iron ore resources even if the Allies occupy nothing of Norway but the Narvik hex ...

RE: Norway

<r> Thanks for all the information guys. I was especially intrigued by the idea of a german invasion of Norway <I><s></s>instead<e></e></I> of Denmark, to retard US air units transiting via&nbsp;Greenland/Iceland&nbsp;- I'll have to think about that some more. <br/>

<t> It's been a couple of years since I last put a msg on this forum, but I've been playing WiF almost continously, and can't wait to see this game on computer: no more angst about their being insufficient players (woo-hoo!).<br/>

I hope there'll be one for a British surrender .. isn't there some footage of Prince Edward giving a nazi salute somewhere? I'm sure there's <I><s></s>plenty<e></e></I> of clips that could be 'doctored' to illustrate an ahistorical event .. what about ...

RE: MWiF Map Review - America

I think the white hexes look grouse (excellent), much more aesthetically appropriate for the arctic .. in what way do the rules for them differ from those for swamps?

RE: MWiF Map Review - Australia & New Zealand

<r> WiFFE has desert-mountain hexes, which - despite me never having actually been in such places myself, is obviously a realistic idea. Where I <I><s></s>have<e></e></I> been, however, like many of you I imagine, is in 'forest-mountains', and I always felt that their absence on the hex maps ...

RE: When?

<r> My radar is going haywire after reading the earlier mention of a CD release, rather than limiting MWiF to the status of an online&nbsp;download. I am totally ignorant of how these things work/are costed/distributed etc, but it seems common sense to produce the game on CD/DVD whatever .. <br ...

<t> In the same vein, Formosa should ideally be represented as chinese territory conquered by Japan, which therefore automatically reverts to Chinese control when Japan is conquered/surrenders. Quite how this can be reflected in&nbsp;MWiF I don't know, unless Formosa's hexes are coloured&nbsp;with ...

RE: MWiF Map Review - Pacific Islands

<r> Hey Shannon, what's the possibility of&nbsp;historically significant place names being included <I><s></s>ad hoc<e></e></I> onto the map, even if they don't otherwise merit a mention? I'm thinking primarily about Bataan, although maybe 'The Ardennes' or even Kasserine Pass are worth ...

RE: Art in MWiF

<t> Using such pious and convoluted vocabulary to describe ones own endeavours is, to say the least IMHO a little conceited, but I'm actually going to go out on a limb here and postulate that this Laskar chappie was a seriously pretentious wanker. Perhaps he'd have benefitted from someone&nbsp ...
