Re: OT: Yamamoto Famous Quote After Pearl Harbor

the clip is correct, I know of no source that definitively attributes any such statement to the Admiral, but it IS widely documented that he was very troubled by the post attack declaration submitted to the US government (having lived in the US for years and understanding the character of its people).

Re: AGP Repair Question

An APG in not considered a "repair" ship for game purposes like an AR or ARD so you won't see that option, they simple assist in repairing small craft, it can repair "major" damage to such craft.... so you won't see a "X" beside such damage if an APG is present.

A further tactic is to station engineers at a refinery and that way when the Japanese attack and take it, the engineers are the ones who destroy elements of the refinery The more engineers, the heavier the havoc caused. Besides bombing it once in Japanese hands, it's the only way I know that will ...

Thanks Tony for your input. I've talked to Alfred about his situation in regards to the Forum on multiple occasions and I too would be loath to put words into his mouth. But the facts are his account was suspended for a finite period of time which expired long ago and he was then informed he ...

Let me try and intervene here a bit as I interact with both of you a fair amount.

I believe that you are both correct. He chooses not to return, I believe, because he feels that there are certain "things" permitted in this forum that are not in alignment ...

FYI; Alfred was NOT "driven away" as you put it. In fact he has the green light to return whenever he wants, he has chosen not to.

Re: Switching Float Planes on Subs

BB, I understand all about "height of eye" and target height above the horizon, I have spent years at sea (literally) and way too many hours staring at a PPI display. My question concerns definitive statements about the GAME that are often made with little or no sources put forth. I think we all ...

I think that you are incorrect. I do believe that radar only works within the hex but a greater range than one hex increases the odds for detection. But ...

Re: Switching Float Planes on Subs

Glens can be effective as early warning barriers for the Japs if the weather cooperates... Petes can't be on sobs. I use Glen equipped subs as a sort of tripwire outside of remote islands and they work ok. It's the best Japs have until radar comes along.

Re: Assigning Leaders to Ground Units

Assault means the person is highly aggressive and should be placed in a unit destined to attack, while combat means the guy is good in the line but falls short in terms of aggression and should be used in frontline defensive units.......both have good combat skills normally.

Some units can't divide because a fragment it coming later as reinforcements, check your reinforcements list. This happens a lot with Jap air units.
