RE: NPF Play problem

<t> We got Barbarossa to play by going through a slightly different system which was not outlined properly in the manual. Once we hit the saved game file we found which one we could play. However, Guadalcanal, Fascist Tide, Day of Infamy, and Miss the Bus do not load but hang up on political ...

MWIF Failure to Launch

<t> My friend and I have been successful loading and playing Barbarossa through NetPlay and loading Global War but cannot load Guadalcanal, Miss the Bus, Fascist Tide, or Day of Infamy. Several hang up on loading at the screen shot, which I cannot capture, of Creating New Guadalcanal, Setting ...

RE: NPF Play problem

We will try again and avoid the pitfalls outlined, although my best recollection is that we avoided that latter trap.

NPF Play problem

<t> My friend and I are both on the internet together using the same version of WiF and can get things started from my computer only (same operating systems) to the point we have chosen a scenario, selected the options, added the player names and assigned sides. He receives a message to start the ...

RE: The Operational Art of WAr v4.1.0.40 not loading

A friend and I have been playing on line. He surrendered while the scenario still had turns to run. I clicked on "end scenario" and put in his password but nothing appears to have changed. What am I missing?

RE: Russo-Japanese War 1904-05

Does anyone know how the naval repair and resupply work? I have ships in Port Arthur which have no equipment even though undamaged and nothing happens to supply them despite being there for several turns. Those which are damaged do not appear to undergo any repair. They fought one engagement.

Naval repairs and replenishment

<t> I am playing the Russo-Japanese War (PBEM) with a friend. My naval units appear to have no guns after the first engagement and I cannot determine from the rules how to get them or resupply the ammunition despite being in Port Arthur for several weeks. I notice in looking at the scenario to gain ...

RE: Naval Units and damage in Operational Art of War IV

Perfect! Thanks. We haven't gotten that far although we played WITP several times and enjoyed that game as PBEM.

RE: Naval Units and damage in Operational Art of War IV

It appeared to me your answer referencing Saigon, etc., related to the game War in the Pacific rather than Operational Art of War IV. You made specific reference to the former game in your answer, but I think the dynamics are different with OAW-IV. Thoughts?

Naval Units and damage

<t> In playing the Russo-Japanese War some ships have taken damage and used up ammunition. While in port how are replenishment and repair performed and how long is the process? Is there a requirement for ships to be in a particular status (moving, tactical, etc.) to be repaired or replenished? Are ...

RE: Tech Support

The game manual does not describe all the elements listed in the unit display and it is difficult to understand what the numbers actually represent. Is there a source of information somewhere else?

uploading to server problems

Playing both BA and BA 2 with an opponent I find I cannot upload my turns. The connection to the server has failed and I have to cancel the turn. Any fixes you can recommend?

CMANO Save Game Issue

<t> When playing a game (the tutorial, submarine operations) and clicking on "save game" (Not Save As), I am given a title for the save but there isn't a place to put it (it automatically starts in "Documents" which isn't where the game is. I created a Save directory in the subdirectory for the game ...

RE: Sub Ops - The Thin Blue Line

All these comments work to answer the question I posted on a different thread. Thanks for the advice. I will try the different schemes as I work through the tutorial before tackling the real work.

RE: Tutorial 2 - Basic Training: Submarine Operations

I am still struggling with that same issue of trying to sink the Udaloy while avoiding the KA-27's.Any suggestions on what worked, or do you think it was just a matter of many attempts finally resulting in a win?

RE: Understanding production numbers

<t> Thank you for the reply. There are some gaps in the rule book, and while I did look over the production issues before posting, I could only come to the conclusion the numbers in parentheses on the intelligence screen for production indicated the total available points in each category. My ...

Understanding production numbers

<t> In looking over Japanese production in a scenario beginning May, '42, we have noticed a series of numbers in the resource and resources availability screen, accessed from the intelligence tab. In right side totals, there are numbers in parentheses, which are at best confusing as nothing in the ...

repairing ships

<t> I have noticed that damaged ships, even in a port size 9 with tons of supplies and ship repair points do not seem to repair from day to day. Some ships, ported in San Francisco or Karachi, seemingly change little even though I have taken all ships from the disbanded category, put them into task ...

War in the Pacific Questions

<t> Two questions on WitP (not AE). One is whether there is any adjustment for Allied code breaking. The current intelligence system does not appear to take the advantage into account. I have not found any patch or update and did not know if one is planned, or incorporated into the AE game (which ...
