RE: Anyone seen the Unicorn?

<t> Before I stopped playing the game, I was looking at data trying to explain why the Axis are having such a tough time getting anywhere close to the December 1941 historical front line. I looked at WITE1 saves for games against the AI where I had achieved Historical Results, and compared them to ...

RE: What should an average player expect their WITE2 H2H/PBEM experience to be?

I was really hoping that the thread would see more discussion of my suggestion for shorter full map campaign games that allow players to practice and try out different strategies knowing they are allocating a specific amount of time and effort.

RE: Assault HQ's(no new games for me until fixed)

<t> Assault HQs are not the sole cause of the "woes" that are afflicting WITE2. Fundamentally this game is about gaining and losing hexes and how far the game varies from the historical rate at which hexes were gained and lost. Most of the changes to the WITE1 system have made it harder to gain, and ...

What should an average player expect their WITE2 H2H/PBEM experience to be?

<t> If two average players with equal experience and skill play a full game should they expect a broadly historical experience influenced by hindsight and the avoidance of historical mistakes?<br/>
<br/>
In actual game terms what should this look like? <br/>
<br/>
Most average Axis players will ...

RE: Stalingrad to Berlin scenario

<t> I played this scenario with an opponent who allowed me to withdraw from Stalingrad on turn 1. It made absolutely no difference to the end result. The Red Army turns into Red Army 2.0 much quicker than WITE1,the the rate of attriton and the new entrenchment rules mean that the Axis cannot build ...

RE: Panzers vs The Bear: A WitE2 MP AAR (Soviet Perspective)

<t> The variance in the amount of attrition that the Axis can suffer with the the blizzard/first winter rules is quite significant, plus the fact that the Red Army can attack on a much wider front and for longer than they did historically, means the Axis can be ground down to a point that the spring ...

RE: No Hitler Factor for The Germans

<t> Large sections of the front line are frozen for 2-3 turns in the StB campaign. Without the ability to shorten the front at Demyansk and Rzhev and transfer units to the south, it is very hard, if not impossible for a human to stabilise the AGS front at anything like the historical frontline. The ...

<t> Wait until you are defending against Red Army 2.0 in 1943 and you are desperate for Heavy Mud to give you a chance to rest and recover. [WAD/AI improvement item added to list] Stalingrad to Berlin AI stops attacking

On turn 22 the AI didnot make a single attack. I thought it might be because part of the front was heavy mud. 23 and 24 were mud across the whole front so no attacks expected. Turn 25 was Clear on most of the front but again no attacks. Same for turn 26.

Learning to Live with WITE2 - 10 things that take some getting used to.

<r> There is no doubt WITE2 is, and plays, very differently to WITE1. Here are 10 changes that I have struggled to adjust to. This assessment is based on Playing a 1941 H2H campaign as Axis and achieving a 68 turn decisive victory. A 52 turn defeat in H2H Stalingrad to Berlin, and 2 ongoing 1941 H2H ...

RE: Super Depot

<t> I think this is a subject worthy of debate. In the 5 games I have played; 3AI and 2 MP, I have increased my use of SD's from zero in my first game and getting smashed, to using them pretty extensively in my most recent games and seeing positive results - I may be close to a sudden death win 60 ...
