RE: About Software Development

<t> Bah. Ish. I mean, over 20-odd years in private and government contracting (mostly developing for the DoD) suggest to me these are true sentiments but, objectively speaking, standards have gone down. A notable chunk of the best-selling, high-end releases in all genres are "beta" or "early access ...

RE: Who is happy with Command?

<t> Pretty tickled. I like it. I still have some performance issues on one of my machines, but one way or another they'll be resolved. <br/>
<br/>
I'm hoping for some UI changes over time, but IMO that's window dressing around an impressive engine I think has lots of potential. As biased as it ...

Good performance now, some suggestions

<t> I tried CMANO on another machine of similar specs to the one I was experiencing trouble and, for whatever reason, it works better. <br/>
<br/>
Since that's over with, I've made it through a few, small scenarios and had some thoughts.<br/>

RE: Performance

<t> FWIW, when I installed the .NET installer ran "Repair" to completion, since I already had it installed. Today I tried a 4.5 installation (with reboot) and the issues remain. They're not deal-breakers, but they make it hard to play for any length of time.<br/>

<t> It's not as responsive as I would expect. <br/>

Few items:<br/>

- Mouse-based zooming lags (2-3 sec)<br/>
- There are update problems in the sash panes to the right (as in, if something is dragged over them they may blank and not redraw)<br/>

RE: Pricing Suggestion

<t> Eh. I bought it without thinking twice, once released. Pretty much like I did with Harpoon 3 Ultimate, ANW, etc. before them.<br/>
<br/>
I'm squarely in the middle of their target market, and I'd say we're more used to expensive, rare purchases than not. Examples would be my most recent ...

RE: Is this a bug (long range air -> ship intercept)?

Oh, FWIW I am using Harpoon ANW v3.7.1, the latest version of DB2000, and the "Consolidation" scenario in the "North Star Exercise" battleset.

Is this a bug (long range air -> ship intercept)?

<t> Not entirely sure if this is a bug, so I wanted to check.<br/>
<br/>
(a) Selected an air group fitted with harpoons<br/>
(b) Clicked the "attack" (icon of launching missile) button<br/>
(c) Selected a target with the resultant crosshair pointer<br/>
(d) Target was out of range, so I get the ...

Multiplayer clients & serial #'s

<t> I don't really care whether a developer chooses to insist that everybody in a multiplayer game has a licensed copy of their software -- I can see arguments for either approach -- but I was curious if I could do a LAN game with Harpoon 3 ANW (just to introduce/promote it to some friends) using ...

RE: Screen Resolution Problem

<t> Hi there. Just got ANW and just finished reading this thread. Still have some questions.<br/>

1680 x 1050 (main)<br/>
1280 x 1024 (second)<br/>

My goal is to run Harpoon ANW (a) in windowed ...
