RE: 1st oct 1944 Shidens ONLINE!

<t> To revisit the slightly earlier conversation.. IF the US invades Hokkaido/Northern Honshu.. and IF that did create a Soviet response.. for example a slowing of their advance on Berlin (dubious but plausible) so that they could check the US presence in Asia and also presumably join in the spoils ...

RE: HAIRY TO THE BONE

<t> The interesting thing now about this AAR is that, having lived in Japan now for 16 years, Ive had opportunities to visit many of the cities you are now mentioning daily. Its sort of an odd feeling. Ive been to Hachinohe a couple of times and its the last stop in the north of the bullet train ...

RE: OT Isoroku Yamamoto movie review

<t> I thought the Yamato movie was awful, and a terrible wasted chance. Instead of a sappy movie with thought processes that match a 1940s Japan, the characters seemed taken from the Japan of today. There is so much in the real Yamato story that would have made a better movie that I couldnt ...

RE: DISASTER

I wonder if you can use this tragedy to set up an ambush.. make it look like you havent learned your lesson.. set some bait..but put your own carriers in a position to strike when he moves up the KB..

just thinking here..

RE: Blood in the skies

Wow.. yeah, you cant leave for a few hours without something happening.

I hope you recover GJ, especially your morale, which seems to have taken the biggest hit. Live and learn as they say. Good luck in continuing the good fight.

RE: Summary

Great AAR..Im just starting with the game.

A couple of real life pointers.. Naha isnt a village. Its a city. Even in 1945. Also, your soldiers wouldnt be "cold and wet"..just wet. Okinawa has a climate similar to Hawaiis.

Anyway, great read, thanks!

Sequoia.. the BR20s shouldnt be in the game anyway because the IJA hated them and replaced them with Ki-21s as soon as it became available.

RE: Am I headed for a bloodbath?

Another thing.. you might be experienceing bad weather at the moment, but its a coincidence. The weather model doesnt take into consideration that you are around the Aleutians and all that implies in real life. Its all on the same weather model from what I understand.

RE: OT: TV Show 'Dogfights' Reminder

Well..that MiG pilot crashed on the flight line and wiped out like 5 to 10 other MiGs..so unfortunately for him he is unlikely to have any opinion on the matter at all from beyond the grave. But he was a great pilot, if the show was accurate.

Yeah.. the F-86 one was great.. chasing the Mig all the way back to base and shooting it down over its own runway.. Cool.
