RE: Question regarding customization...

<r> IIRC, you can establish several airbases (more than one) at one hex. For example: at the Rabaul hex there are Vunakanau, Tobera and other strips in the database. Can you put them into the game<I><s></s> at once<e></e></I>?<br/>

RE: PT Boats

<t> IMHO these tiny combat vessels are almost useless for some time until they gain at least a decent degree of experience. To achieve that you need to employ them continuously, no matter what. Of course you´ll lose dozens of them that way, but the remainder can become a pestilent weapon eventually ...

RE: What would you like to see in Carrier Force?

May be another idea: individually shifting planes and/or pilots between squadrons (same a/c type, same base location of course). This will enable to fill up depleted airgroups or create certain elite squadrons. It sucks not to have control of the aviator pool.

def mines @ port

<t> Hi all,<br/>
<br/>
since v2.5 you can take a look on your mine defenses at your ports on the base screen. Is there any chance to have a bearing on the defensive mines at your own ports/bases? In particular to etstablish them on bases who doesn´t have any defensive mines at all (Lunga) and to ...

RE: surface action - Norman Scott is the MAN!!!

<r> How to observe the individual actions & phases of a surface encounter in UV??? or are there even separate controls to "adjust" the outcome of such a clash? The only thing I´m really missing in UV is that depth of order, when compared to my former favourite game regarding this theatre: QQP´s ...

RE: problems with auto subs

sounds pretty logical...
but had it read here in the forum that someone did right what I did then too: swtching homebase of my fleet subs. However, for the I-121 minelayer U-baots I always retained Truk as return port.
Any further helpful hints?

problems with auto subs

<r> Hi all,<br/>

after I´ve switched in my recent AI game the homebase of my (computer controlled) subs to Shortlands just to have them as close as possible to the frontline I encountered an odd problem: when they return there after finishing their war patrol, they always get disbanded by ...

In open water minefields will disintegrate rapidly. If located at an enemy base as an offensive field this will happen also and if defensive one located at your base count on about 1% per day decrease. You'll have to maintain what you lay.

minefields

<t> Hi all,<br/>
<br/>
just wondering about the rules for mine warfare. Whenever I create minefields they tend to disappear few turns later (shallow water areas). Do the mines laid really "fade away" or just aren´t they shown on the map any longer but remain intact in place?<br/>

RE: BB Shinano

from all what I know, the importance of SHINANO´s construction was downgraded after PH, and by about April 1942 all work came to halt anyway. (according to A. Yoshimura "Battleship Musashi", p.124). So there was already some delay - independent from the Midway-caused pause...

<t> Ever wondered about: even the long range camp´s doesn´t include the arrival of the SHINANO (as BB). Does anybody has a clue about a estimated historical correct date of the availability of that beast if it had been finished along schedule? (for the purpose of modifiying sc´s)<br/>

so, years after release and taking into consideration tons of experience: did anyone ever acomplished that feat successfully and (auto-?) shut down (or not...) the game by seizing N or B?
Any battle report regarding this appreciated...
