RE: Which war games (board) do you play the most often?

<r> Most of my board gaming with friends is non wargame stuff, though I do play Twilight Struggle with one particular buddy (and I still need to bust out Hannibal : Rome vs. Carthage with him as well). So my war games tend to be solo, or lighter fare like Sekigahara and Julius Caesar. A lot of DVG ...

RE: WIn 8 another horror..

<t> But again, devs are just now starting to focus on DirectX10 only. And they're doing that because of the massive pickup rates of Windows 7 (take a look at the Steam system reports, for example). So many gamers are playing pon DX10 systems that it makes sense for them to take advantage of DX10 ...

RE: WIn 8 another horror..

<t> I wouldnt worry that much about it, wodin. Most game developers are just now starting to use DirectX 10 as the standard. It's unlikely that they're just jump ahead and start producing piles of DirectX 11.1 only games. 10 is now financially viable for them, 11.1 isn't at this point. And with ...

RE: The Wargamer and curtis

<t> Good grief. You and Curtis really are two peas in a pod, Wodin. You talk a big game about how you don't want to see the wargaming community divided, and then you put up antagonistic nonsense that serves no purpose except dividing the wargame community. Grogheads isn't running around tossing ...

RE: AGEOD and Paradox going separate ways

I don't really know why some of you guys seem to be assuming that AGEOD independent again. Paradox bought them. They aren't selling them off. They're giving them development autonomy (which is awesome), but they're still Paradox France.

I wonder what's going on with Phantom Leader - not sure I would want to "repay" for it - board games are hefty enough, coming in at between £40 and £60 (for the games I look at)<br/>

RE: For anyone interested in boardgames

Good mission, JD. Hornet Leader's a great game. I'm also looking forward to Thunderbolt/Apache Leader, and I guess Phantom Leader is getting the Deluxe reprint treatment for those more interested in Vietnam as a theater of operations.

I preferred the style of the old screens.

There never have been pics of this game, those are from an iPad module. But they do show pretty much exactly what the board game looks like.

I pretty much thought the final in the Pro League was over...and then a comeback?! Unreal.

Thanks for running the leagues, Paul. I'll have to give some thought to what game I want and get back to you. [:)]
