RE: Axis free for all ?

<t> Do you have Infantry Weapon 2 tech? Did you get Infantry and Armored Warfare techs? Without them you will have a lot of trouble. Generally you should focus more on tech in the early game and relatively little on building units, particularly as the Allies. You should be at or near your research ...

RE: Isolated units and supply

Encirclements work but you have to focus your strong units on reducing (either through air or siege) or taking the supply points inside of them. In addition an encirclement usually means you have more hexsides to attack into compared to a battle line.

RE: Odd quirk with French commandos

<t> The commandos usually surrender when France falls but there is a percentage chance (low) of units not in France or French territory going Free French instead of vanishing. It rarely comes up in practice but my guess is the commando made the cut the first time and not the second time. It usually ...

RE: Supply question in China

ORIGINAL: Kriegsspieler

For example, what is the threshold supply level to reinforce a unit up to its full nominal value of 10?

Supply level 6 is what you need to get up to 10. Supply 5 gets you only to 8.

That is probably it. You could destroy the invasion and see if the surrender triggers. If not, go for world domination.

<t> In general Germany and Italy cannot use Japanese ports or supply sources vice-versa.<br/>

There is an even in 1944 (I believe to make the port of Penang into a German port). Once this is done it cannot resupply Japanese ships. Realistically it makes sense. Japan had almost no way to get ...

RE: Easier for the allies to invade Spain than France

Even if they are supplied you can still wipe out the Low Countries in one turn. It gets silly in a lot of situations that neutrals are always caught completely off-guard.

RE: Easier for the allies to invade Spain than France

<t> I think one of the big problems is the "surprise" of minor neutrals being at 0 supply on the first turn. It is easy to win quickly. Against Spain it is not difficult to mass enough air to bomb the defenders of Madrid out of existence and, if you have a fast enough unit, take the capitol on the ...

I thought the US and Britain cannot use Soviet supply points. How are they being supplied for these raids in Russia?

Try playing with the force caps in place so the US and Britain can only have a few strat bombers.

<t> The war is won on the Eastern Front. In MP I tend to attack the Soviets to assist the Germans if at all possible with a balance of holding on to your other holdings to avoid morale losses. It adds up quick if the US starts an island hopping campaign. Another factor to consider is that it is ...
