The Longest Day is also a good choice and there are a few mods in the works for it. Most importantly Gold Juno Sword!

It's a tough call. TLD has more mods for it (and probably more in the works), while LSA has its own unique combat and style (similar to CC3 because of a point system).

My own advice would be to pick up TLD first. You'll have a fair amount of things to keep you busy for a while.

Great game...actually fired up the original the other day and played some of the alt-scenarios. Great fun. Does this version have any?

The AI is ok, but the full enjoyment of the game comes from playing against another human commander.

I played CC3 for years solo and enjoyed it so I think you can expect a good level of fun out of it. But again, for maximum enjoyment online play!

I agree that mortars vs AT is an issue I'm not sure how a poll will solve anything. It's just a waste of time and another way for people to vent their frustrations, which I believe the forums ...
