RE: ETO-scenario is here!

Perfect, worked like a charm.  Strange though, I thought I had 1.6 installed.  My readme file said 1.6 on it.  In any case, I'm up and running so thank you.

RE: I will NOT be BUYING..........

<t> There's no 3d, so I'd imagine CPU and RAM would be all that really matters.&nbsp; Though being able to run higher resolutions is very helpful just as far as being able to see more of the map.&nbsp; Games like this really aren't like the latest 1st person shooters or real time games that push ...

RE: Newly Crowned Kaiser

I've played quite a bit of solitare, but haven't done more than half a game of pbem at most.&nbsp; I'd be interested in giving it a shot as either side.

Throw me in there as a fan too.&nbsp; It's probably been since Steel Panthers first hit shelves that I've had as much fun with a pc based wargame.

RE: Problems with 1.30F

Not sure if anyone else has run into this, but the latest game I played Great Britain surrendered and then all hexes in Egypt returned to British control.&nbsp; Virtually the entire Turkish army was stuck in Egypt with no possibility of movement to friendly ground.

RE: Why GoA?

<t> Part of the appeal for me, aside from it being rather rare subject matter for a strategy game, is the total war strategy required. This game really gives a great feel for how you need to balance your military strategy with solid economics, keeping morale up, r&d, diplomacy, resource management ...

<t> Well I'm not exactly sure.&nbsp; But I finished up the game, France finally surrendered.&nbsp; Serbia remained formally in the fight and never did throw in the towel.<br/>

Maybe there is some historical significance to never formally surrendering, but if there are diplomatic/economic ...

RE: Serbian Surrender

Russian has surrendered.
Britain has surrendered.
Italy has surrendered.
All Serbian hexes are under Austrian control.
All Serbian military units have been eliminated.

Still Serbia fights on.

I'm guessing this is a bug.

Serbian Surrender

Have the rules for Serbia changed in 1.30? In the game I am playing as the CP I have conquered all of Serbia but maybe 1 empty hex in the south and they have still not surrendered. Seems a little extreme.

RE: Can food be destroyed ?

I had a similar question awhile back and the response I got was that there is a % chance each turn that a captured food hex will become depleted and dissapear forever.&nbsp; So captured food is only a temporary benefit.

New player looking for opponent

<t> I've played through vs the AI as each side and now I'm thinking it's time to move on to PBEM. Anyone else getting started with the game who would be interested?<br/>

I'm not picky about which side I play and I prefer games played out to the bitter end. <br/>

RE: Wannabe Kaiser wanted

What's your experience level with the game?&nbsp; I'd be willing to give it a shot, but I've only had the game long enough to play through each side one time and this would be my first pbem game.

<t> It was my understanding that captured territory and surrendering enemy nations boosted morale, so in that case I would think the gains would boost morale enough to keep them in the war.&nbsp; Well unless the losses taken to get to that point were far above historic levels. &nbsp; <br/>

<r> Given the state of Britain in the actual war I don't know if that's unrealistic.&nbsp; From what I've read about the time of the German 1918 offensive Britian was on the verge of the breaking point due to the u-boat campaign.<br/>

RE: British Strategies

<t> I tend to agree but then again it does force people to try and stick to realistic strategies instead of running their nation into the ground for a year or two and then waiting for it to bounce back.&nbsp; Keeping people happy during a war is usually a huge part of waging the war itself and ...
