I too was wondering about what these new numbers were that appeared with no explanation. That they are attack/defence bonuses makes the most sense, but as has been outlined above there is a lot that has been left unexplained and (as far as I can tell) undocumented.

I can find the fuel stats for the fighter IV in the SFTypes tab of the editor, but can't figure out how to change it.

Actually I can't use them at all. Ran out of fuel after a while. I set them all to no HQ and now I'm using carrier fighters

Are you sure that you havn't bought them already?
The fog of war doesn't update till the next turn, but if you've just bought a nation then you can see the units and alter production even though its still greyed out.

You're right. The trip from the HQ out to the unit that needs to be picked up appears to be included in the movement cost.
