<t> HoI2: Yes, I've heard a lot of how the naval aspect was blown. However, by DDA 1.3, I've heard a lot of good things about naval invasions, making it a legitamate threat you had to face. Mind you, heard. I played a little with Armageddon, but by that time I was tired of HoI in general, and moved ...

RE: Civilization Revolution - I think they've finally done it!

<t> On the average difficulty, about 9 hours or so seems normal. On the hard difficulty it's taken, I'd estimate, 10 hours over a couple days to get to, maybe, the halway point. I guess I just play slow, civ 4 BTS could take up to two weeks to beat, and that's with 3+ hours a night. It may be civ ...

Bought it to PS3, played it a few times, however a CIV game completed in aprox one hour feels like civ-lite to me. So I will keep playing CIV on the PC and let the Civ Rev lie alone on the bench.

RE: Civilization Revolution - I think they've finally done it!

<t> The streamlining of the experience has in general improved the Civ 4 BTS experience, while retaining some of the better features from that. A few things I do miss is the larger game, instead of you and 4 other civ's and a small map, however this is not quite as detrimental to the game as it ...

Feltan: Here or if you could point on the BG forums, could you elaborate on what you find wrong with the game? The few criticisms of yours I did find seemed well thought out, and I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts for what else could be done.

I'm not particularily creative, and in my wargames I like to play a imperial USA uniting the hemisphere under one government. Orwell seems most appropriate.

RE: Diablo 2

I've never understood why Diablo II got such a reputation, tried it once and it seemed as generic as pretty much any other RPG. I liked the first baldurs gate a lot, didn't care as much for the second one and the way they redid the map, NWN was ok. Didn't finish it.

<t> It's ok, but I had expected a lot more from the game than what we got. It feels rather... bare? Like someone had gotten the framework set up, and now it's waiting on someone putting in the awesome bits. I would highly recommend instead EUIII + NA + IN. This combination has provided the best ...

RE: Game dealing with the type of problems facing Iraq/Afghanistan?

<t> Perhaps I didn't quite convey what I'm looking for. My concern for the military side of this is quite little. If I wanted to look at it from a military perspective, your right Feltan, it would be quite boring, but what I find quite interesting, is the challenge of making a government function. I ...

Game dealing with the type of problems facing Iraq/Afghanistan?

Anyone know of any games that simulate, at least to a degree, the same kinds of things that face creating a stable state in Iraq and Afghanistan with a world scale? Something like a grand strategy that has also a focus on internal situations as much as external?
