RE: Windows 7 and JTCS

Hi

Thanks Jason.
I had the problem only in the map editor.
I missed somehow the point of activating it for all three exe files.
You brought me back on track and its 100% fine now.

RE: Noob: Maintaining supply

<t> Allways great to be of help.<br/>
Dont hesitate to ask anything. This game is worth every bit of it.<br/>
<br/>
BTW <br/>
The command radius is just a sign of coherence of the units (companywise), keeping your company within the "range of command" of the first platoon gives a boost to morale ...

<t> Hi<br/>
<br/>
No.<br/>
This symbol declares the unit only to the HQ unit of a company aka hq platoon or the first "sub-unit" of any company size unit.<br/>
<br/>
This unit has "command" capability if you hit "w" on your keyboard you will see the "command radius" of the unit.<br/>

<t> Ok. You got me hooked.<br/>
<br/>
What I (only) did, as a matter of fact was only to enhance and experiment with an already large example of the old EF scenario standards. Wintergewitter. I think I D/L this one sometime 2004 from the Talonsoft site but I am not really sure anymore.<br/>

I am afraid I am a not too good player to qualify for PBEM.<br/>
Also a scen that huge played by EM vs a Human Opponent would probably take a year or so.<br/>

Which Windows Operating System do you use?
Theres quite a difference between the game running either on Windows XP or 7/Vista.

<t> I want to break a lance for our beloved game.<br/>
I cant find anything that compares to JTCS EF/WF/RS.<br/>
Neither from the game mechanics nor from the editor and the possibilities for long term game fun does anything beat this piece of software. After a "few" years of playing (10+) I still ...

RE: Weapons data etc

<t> Unit Handbook (F2) should actually work fine under Windows 7, if it does not this is usually a sign of some unit in the OOB thats buggy.<br/>

General Help, Parameter Data, Unit Data and Weapon Data are all in old Windows Help File Format *.chm or *.hlp I think.<br/>
This is not anymore ...

If that wouldnt have solved it I would have recommended setting up Windowx XP SP2 in a Virtualbox on Vista (works also on Windows 7).

<t> I like to throw in that the average Motorcycleplatoon men had (were supposed to have) more submachineguns instead of the standard rifle compared to regular Infantry platoons. Shorter barrels make them easier to transport.<br/>

<t> They are as AbeSimpson said purely for assaulting. <br/>
You may also succesfully attempt to wipe out a 1 platoon unit which is disrupted in some rare cases.<br/>
But they do an incredible good job in an assault in combination with engineers. Check their values there.<br/>
