Yes, zoom in and out! A larger map area would also be nice. Having the game play restricted to the upper left hand corner of your monitor is kind of a drag.

<r> Just stumbled on this today. I can't even begin to thank you enough for this! RE: Screen size question

I'm actually trying to run this on my Surface 3...sort of bizarre native res @2140x1440 or something like that; the game starts, but I only see a portion of the screen and can't access any buttons to get past the welcome screen. It's like the display is shifted down and to the right.

RE: Targeting of heroes in Melee

PDiFolco, those things are integral to the game design, so I wouldn't hold my breath. Of course, you could pick up the actual board game, and house rule it to your heart's content. I do that myself. I leave the spotting as is, though.

Whether or not people agree with your list, you deserve top marks for working a picture of Milla Jovovich into a blog about tactical games. :)

RE: Heroes of Stalingrad: What's Next?

<r> Well, while we wait to see who's favorite theater gets done next (if at all), I think that if you (Mark and Tom) can develop the editor a bit to make it a tad more user friendly and make some of the other LnL maps available, some talented folks here would be more than happy to gen up a bunch of ...

RE: My take on the game

I just got trounced in Human Wave, and it didn't help that there were 2 Soviet heroes on the board pretty much from the first turn on. Got to be that I dreaded the next die roll after seeing a 1 on the DC :).

RE: Ouestions and/or Frustrations

<r> I actually house rule the board game on the shaken units. They get to roll 2 dice, and on snake eyes they can reduce an enemy squad. This is about the only niggle I have with LnL, and easy enough to house rule. This way, there is a chance you could pay *some* penalty for going into melee with ...

RE: First MP Game.

It's too bad this doesn't support LAN play...I'd have already gotten a second copy for that. I have several friends that would enjoy this IF we could do it via LAN. It's a pain having to go online and register yet another account just to do multiplayer.

RE: 2 questions...

<t> The odd thing is, they used to have a version of the board game rules semi-hidden on the old LnL web site, but they're not available anymore to the best of my knowledge. Of all the board game publishers out there, the 2 that stand out as making their game rules available even before the game is ...

You're right, it was Opening the Door...and I played all the way through that 'til the abrupt end WITHOUT noticing the tank had to survive. Of all the boneheaded moves...jeesh. And I was sober, so I can't even use that excuse.

RE: Future of game?

<t> I'm sure it will all depend on sales. I don't know how many units they need to sell before this is judged a "success", and worth the development time needed to produce expansions. I'm sure hoping it gets there! After playing an actual board game scenario the other night, it's amazing how much ...

Premature ending to Kalich Crossing

Ver. 1.05, the scenario ended on the first impulse of turn 10 when the tank *next* to Wurtz blew up. Maybe he took some shrapnel in the head :). In any event, as soon as the tank blew up, I got unceremoniously booted to the end screen and lost the scenario.

RE: Nighty-Nite: how can we destroy the M4A1 soviet tank?

<r> From an anecdotal standpoint, I've only been successful in about 20-30% of my close assaults, so it does pretty much come down to the luck of the dice. I got a big one last night, though, in Ambush, when Morosov took out the PzIV, and then used the wreck as cover to deal more mayhem to the ...
