RE: Leader error bug

<t> Hey Mike,<br/>
<br/>
as I stated above I have no screen capture software, and I dont think the game has it imbedded either.<br/>
<br/>
I completely redid the OOB creating A PanzerKorp from scratch....2 Pz Div, and a Motorized Infantry Div upgrading to a PzGren Div, plus Korp support units. I ...

Leader error bug

<t> I have been testing out a new OOB for the Germans in EF Barbarossa campaign for about the last year or so and i have noticed a really glaring bug. This affects leader units only. At the top of the unit card, in the place were the name/rank is, the name is slowly migrating to the left off the ...

RE: Soviet "super artillery"

<t> 2 years ago i complained about the same thing. It seems that in DCG's AI artillery is overly leathal to your tanks, while the players artillery doest do squat. Its part of the game and nothing seems to work. To give you an example.....Road to Germany DCG on west front.....a single us 60mm mortar ...

RE: Awards and decorations revisited

I believe there is. First read Simovitch's modifying DCG's manual. Its somewhere in the campaign PDF file. One of the datasets will do that. Off the top of my head i dont recall which one it is.

RE: modding campaigns

<t> to alter the oobs without using the editor is better, but it is a long process. I wouldnt attempt it until you have a better understanding of the structure of the oobs. If you do alter any files, please remember to backup ALL files first, in case you make a mistake.<br/>

you will ...

RE: 1.05 Wishlist DCG's

Jason,

I believe, if i read the post correctly, he wishes to have a "amphib" landing senario to be randomly generated for beach landings with the appropiate types of landing craft. At least, I think thats what he meant. [:D]

RE: Transport

<t> I understand what you are saying. Bullying is not a problem for me once i get there, but rather. it is the extreme amoubt of time it takes to get there even at forced march, especially for meeting engagements. The average number of turns for the japanese in a meeting engagement is about 17 or 18 ...

Transport

<t> After having played RS enough, I realized that the Japanese infantry formations just do not have the time to capture their objective hexes before thje time runs out in the battles. The map area is usually too large for jungle fighting and not enough turns. This is prevelant especially in Burma ...

RE: Disrupted units advancing

axtually jason, i have also noticed this is every DCG....i had assumed it was the AI cheating. I had assumed it was hardcoded into the game and was well known

this also happened in the talonsoft version

RE: Modern Wars: Volume I: Poll 2

<t> i voted no. The only video tutorial i ever saw was one of the bootcamps a few years ago. and while visually interesting, it didnt teach me anything i didnt already know. However, the downside is newbies may need to have this.<br/>
<br/>
But again, we vets from the talonsoft days didnt have a ...

RE: Modern Wars: Volume I: Poll 1

I voted both games. Tactics nd weaponry would differ, and i am assuming there are going to be different units that would merit special mention in both eras.

RE: Books and Online Military Resources

<t> I was at a wargaming convention in 1987....I ran across a book published by the US Government in 1945. The title of the book as far as I can remember was "German Order of Battle 1944" Admittedly my menory is a little hazy, but it was the complete OOB of the entire German army in 1944. (2500 ...

RE: 1.05 Wishlist DCG's

<t> again flak......you can do this all youself by altering the oob files and the campaign file. do you have version 1.04? if you do...read Simovitch's excellent manual on modifing DCG's. His manual is a must read! You can find it in your hidden game files. I think its under manuals.....but i am not ...

<t> hmmmm..interesting. from what i have noticed, its usually a tank/mech force i fight against...yes..still my corp HQ generates on the russian side.<br/>
<br/>
very seldom do i encounter a russian infantry force on the battlefield. mostly i see a lot of T-34/85's, SU-122's, and not a few ISU-152 ...

<t> i am forced to agree in principle. CS is for the most part good the way it is. Yes some things needs to be tweeked...but thats what the updates/patches try to correct.<br/>

RE: New bug....has never happened before

<t> as near as i can figgure....it is an anomally only with corp HQ. Since i do not have the corp HQ in every engagement...I look for other units now. thus far...it is only the corp HQ that is affected. every time i recieve a corp HQ...it randomly generates on the russian side of the map...usually ...
