RE: Question for those who have played the 1862 scenario

<t> frankly i wouldnt worry about this much.&nbsp; mortality rates were actually quite high, as they should be.&nbsp; my suggestion would be to add many of the rising stars that fell on the battlefield to supplement the losses.&nbsp; this has the addition positive effect of adding more variety and ...

RE: An improvement I think needs to be made to 1861 scenario

<t> I had this exact same thought and spent too much time modifying the leader sheet only to realize that i simply didnt have the knowledge or time to do as thorough of a job as i would like.&nbsp; if you finish this i would love to see the results.<br/>

percent of commitment of available forces.&nbsp; if the bar is full, all forces are committed.&nbsp;better generals, dependent on terrain, can commit more troops. &nbsp;the numbers indicate the force for calculating retreat, higher number = better

RE: What's with Combat?

<t> i honestly doubt that you recieved 15 hits in a row. i have played at least 10 full campaigns and never gotten anything close to that mark, and that includes attacking unsupplied armies who have HUGE modifiers against them.<br/>

my suggestion would be to take a little more time to ...

I've noticed that once you control the river the confederacy can play a cute game of hide n' go seek with their artillery. If you pop one or two HA here or there you can prevent movement (or incur opportunity shots) but you ...

<t> I was at that phase at one point... the more you understand the game the better it gets.&nbsp; You are likely loosing the battles because you are overlooking something.&nbsp; Its very important to choose teh right generals, the right place, scout, etc etc.<br/>

I don't think thats what he meant.&nbsp; I think he meant he wants computer production on all the time, but he just wants to see what the computer is producing (and possibly edit it if he disagrees)

RE: Southern Victories on Northern Soil

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>Some saw real advantages in a destroyed American mega economy- a peace treaty was what they wanted between both sides- a negotiated settlement, with Britian the peacemaker- the deal maker.&nbsp; Some southern victories at that moment might have&nbsp;tipped the debates to the ...

RE: Southern Victories on Northern Soil

<r> Lee's supply lines were strained to the point of snapping in Pennsylvania. They were also extremely vulnerable. His army had one good fight in it and he knew it. His hope was that a decisive victory could be followed up by a peace treaty, which I don't think would have been accepted. Lincoln ...

RE: Southern Victories on Northern Soil

<t> i was thinking about this today... <br/>
2 things<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
1.&nbsp; every major invasion the south undertook was with the aim of ending the war.&nbsp; these offensives universally had the same effect-- boosting recruitment by phenomenal proportions and steeling the norths war resolve ...

RE: RETREAT!!!!!!

<t> So in a one month span, a force has absolutely no hope of retreating before they are swarmed by overwhelming numbers?&nbsp; Massive troops can 'react' into the region, but they can't react out?&nbsp; <br/>

RE: Southern Victories on Northern Soil

<t> i think the best method would be to give a large PP swing for every northern territory taken, plus a large per turn cost if not retaken.&nbsp; this would not only encourage southern offensives, but it would replicate the reaction the north had to these invasions by forcing the north to retake ...
