RE: Boxed copy of Hired Guns

I'm in Australia. I bought the game on the 1st day of its release via digital download & boxed copy.

No boxed copy has arrived yet. Not too fussed as I'm playing the downloaded version, but it'd be nice if it turns up.

RE: Killing or Not Killing "The Dictator"

<t> How do you get to work for the marauders?<br/>
<br/>
I'm working for the Butsi now. I did this by freeing the sharman from the military base. I then send a single runner to the Butsi village to get the gift and form the alliance with the rest of the team waiting at the airport.<br/>

RE: How to use helo ?

<t> I think the other good thing about the helo is that if you move to a hostile held sector by road, you can't move away from the sector unless you defeat the force that's holding the sector. But with the helo you can't move away without entering the sector map.<br/>

Before I had the helo ...

RE: Different styles of play?

<r> Not sure about that Slick. Though I think you can kill the dictator there and then and then watch youself get killed by Janus' men to end the game if you stay loyal to Janus.<br/>

This is my first time through and I thought it was just your run-of-the-mill-kill-everyone JA story until I ...

RE: Different styles of play?

<t> I started on the easy level, attacked with a single team of 4, then increased to 5 and finally 6. I got some money by finding the finance minister. Then more money by capturing the Dam, Train Station and Airport. Only bought one mercenary squad once used as grenade baits to help defending the ...

<t> Platoon Crusher. I don't know how long you've been playing computer games but I can tell you that releasing unfinished or simply crap games had been going on a lot longer than last several years.<br/>

RE: A First Impression from a JA Veteran

<t> I agree with milkweg, the conversation in JA2 was repetitive and wasn't that funny either. In the original JA it was funnier when Ivan spoke in Russian only and had an air of annoyance about him. Most others with the exception of Fidel were bland characters. And besides, in a game like JA you ...

RE: Strategic Layer?

<r> Overall, i think JA2 may have more stretegic depth but HG also has some good features. <br/>
<br/>
In JA2, especially early on in the game, it's a constant juggling act and lots of frustrations when your newly arrive Merc recruit is cut off and stuck on the road between the first and second ...

RE: Strategic Layer?

<t> Ok nothing definitive, just a few of my observations:<br/>
<br/>
1. Travelling - JA2 has a grid system divided into squares where each has a custom map behind it. Towns can take up multiple squares. You can train militias to defend captured squares with sufficient loyalty. You can travel to ...

RE: Crates (Spoiler)

There are some suitcases scattered around the bus in the Safari park. They contain some guns and ammo. These crates seem to restock with different gear every time you re-enter the map.

RE: Maybe a wish list

<t> Hard Sarge - You may be right that the mercs in the game aren't too crash hot shooters. But I think the game models real combat situations where there's moving targets, smoke and fire, explosions and sudden encounters. This is not exactly a shooting range. With all due respect to your team of ...

Thanks Erik. Could you please tell us if this affects only copies of the game downloaded from certain sub stores or whether all of your online stores use the same master copy?
