How is it PBEM

Considering this one. Might be too early to determine but how is it PBEM? Is it reasonably balanced?

Cheers

Interest in Email Games

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
I've been playing and enjoying the demo and seriously considering pulling the trigger on the full version. But just wondering is there much of a PBEM community around this game and where do you find opponents? I don't notice too many requests posted in the opponents wanted ...

RE: For those lurkers afraid of buying the game...

<t> I've tried to play WITP:AE a good few times, but it all just feels too daunting and overwhelming. The level of micromanagement is just a few steps beyond what I'm willing to deal with. I'm finding WitE absolutely perfect. It is incredibly intuitive, I was up and playing through the tutorial and ...

RE: Rail Repair

<t> Just checking that I understand this correctly. I'm playing Road to Minsk (Normal difficulty). First play through got a draw.<br/>
<br/>
Anyway, after pushing ahead noticed that Rail hexes are 100% damage. OK, if I move the FBD unit to the first hex of damaged track on a line (right next to a ...

RE: Tutorial/Operational/Strategy interest?

<t> Yes please. Just purchased and downloaded the game today. Played the tutorial, read close to half-way point of the manual. All feels very daunting and somewhat overwhelming, so this is a fantastic idea to help with finding our feet and having a sense of direction. I'll definitely closely follow ...

RE: Making up My Mind

<t> OK, played around with it a little (Netherlands scenario), to figure out mechanics and interface etc. Very straightforward and play flows well. <br/>
<br/>
But just an observation on AI. In my first run through, playing as Dutch against German AI, I thought I would just observe how the German ...

RE: Making up My Mind

<r> Thanks for the advice and comments. I've made the plunge and am downloading the game now. Hopefully will get some time to play this weekend. Once I'm up to speed with it I'll be looking for a few email games. So I look froward to seeing some of you on the field of battle <E>:)</E><br/>

You're probably right Stratocruiser, definitely trying to convince myself :), and think I'm close to buying. How are you finding it for PBEM?

Making up My Mind

<t> Trying to decide if this is the game that will tide me over until War in the East is released. Basically I'm after a solid WW II operational/strat game that plays well for PBEM games. I'm something of a newbie when it comes to PBEM so hoping this is something that will ease me into the challenge ...

RE: Time of Wrath or GG World Divided?

<t> Thanks Tomokatu. Well I took the plunge and purchased. Download complete, unit icons mod installed and started my first grand campaign playing as the allies (just checking - when selecting sides should I pick all of the allies and comintern sides as human i.e Brits, French, USA, Russians etc ...

RE: Time of Wrath or GG World Divided?

<t> 3 months versus 1 week doesn't really bother me - do you think the 1 week turns provides a more detailed or comprehensive coverage of the war? I'm really looking for something to get me in the mood for World in Flames and War in Russia when they're eventually released. With Time of Wrath do you ...

Time of Wrath or GG World Divided?

<t> Hi all,<br/>
<br/>
I'm considering buying a grand strategy WWII game - my short list is this and A World Divided. Any recommendations or comments from those of you who have played both? I'm keen to start a few PBEM games with the one I end up going with. Have been playing War Between the ...

RE: Recommend Good PBEM Game

<t> Thanks Erik. I read through your AAR for WBTS last night and that has convinced me to give it a try - month to six weeks sounds good. It means you can then get thorugh a few games and learn from your mistakes, try it from the other side etc. From reading reports on here sounds like it can be ...

RE: Recommend Good PBEM Game

<t> I actually purchased WITP and have been playing through it with AI - but finding it somewhat daunting. Looking for something a little more approachable to enjoy a few PBEMs - I do like complexity - but WITP - well that's a whole new level of complexity. Well let's say more I like complex - a ...

Recommend Good PBEM Game

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
I'm interested in playing something of a Grand Strategy PBEM game. I'm currently considering Birth of America 2 or GGWBTS. Basically if I play a turn a day how long would it take me to complete these games - any other recommendations? I recently purchased WitP - but looking for ...

RE: Evacuating LBA from PI: How?

<t> Thanks for the advice. This game is really daunting. Just looking at the units on the first turn and thinking - 'what the hell should I do with them' - run, dig in and fight it out. Should I load up fuel and supplies and move it out to OZ. Should I load troops and fuel/supplies etc from West ...

RE: Evacuating LBA from PI: How?

Thanks Raver508 How do i get the base forces out - via ships and subs? Just load em and ship em out to Oz? Anyway would the B17s have the range to fly from PI to Darwin or would I need to take them to a few other airfields to refuel etc?

RE: Evacuating LBA from PI: How?

<t> Thanks, so that explains why I also could not load up some troops (7th US Div) in I think San Fran on transports - even though I have the required AP capacity. So in these strat threads I'm reading where many advise pulling as much out of PI as possible do they mean mainly just the troops and ...

Evacuating LBA from PI: How?

<t> OK, this is probably a really dumb newbie question ... anyway ... how do I go about moving/evacuating my level bombers from Philippines bases to Australia (Darwin)? <br/>
<br/>
This is only my first turn but I figure these bases will be overrun really quickly so I want to shift them to OZ. I ...
