I have another problem and will post later when I'm home. But I have found in this game and the old COG that I got less militia spawn by reducing the draft ages. 18-35 or 20-35 from 18-60? As long as I was at war my population stayed stable and ...

Empty Container Units

Surely empty container units in enemy territory should be removed - as in Forge of Freedom ?

First the Spanish, and now the Prussians, have had empty container units (either army or corps) in my territory. The Spanish were moving theirs around - how ?

RE: Fire Ships

Yes - really wicked fun, It would help to prevent the naval battles getting repetitive by adding a touch of chaos.

Wouldn't be so nice if the wind changed direction and one had to avoid one's own fire-ships.

Fire Ships

<t> It struck me while watching my ships ablaze that the game does not include the use of fire-ships, in detailed naval combat.<br/>
<br/>
They would work very well against the Spanish navies , (as they did historically), which in the game set up a defensive line and sit and wait. Fire-ships would ...

RE: Waste elimination

<t> Ah ha ! Your explanation makes sense. <br/>
Yes - I've tried several scenarios as France, and the last time ran into awful waste problems due to a too rapid expansion., which is why it is such an issue right now.<br/>
The last game I was in constant war, not always of my own choosing, and ...

RE: Waste elimination

<t> Sorry guys, but it is still as clear as mud to me. <br/>
<br/>
"Five courts is the magic number you should strive for in as many of your provinces as you can, if you're an expansionist country. You get to have 30 non-protectorate provinces with no risk of waste. Once you get 31, you'll see ...

Waste elimination

<t> According to the manual, 9+ Courts Level eliminates waste in any province. Am I right in thinking that 7+ Culture(Arts) Level achieves the same result ? The manual does not seem to be precisely clear on this issue.<br/>
It seems to me that it is more advantageous to develop Culture than Courts ...

Cavalry charging Artillery ??

<t> [:-] Something I noticed in CoG also - how is it the AI cavalry, in single player detailed combat can charge artillery even though the artillery are well supported by adjacent units (infantry and cavalry) ? <br/>
According to the manual it is not possible - I certainly cannot do it. It is damn ...

Thanks Peter. I'll ponder on it. I love detailed combat - advanced chess gaming. Just imagine if one could play detailed combat via PBEM.

Yes. Move the development slider full whack so that it shows it will only take 1 turn. Would'nt necessarily do it in ordinary game play but it is for the purpose of observing the anomaly.
