You have to execute witp with the -window option on the command line. It isn't a "preference".

Both! Why not allow either option, or perhaps have one "official" one and one that can be downloaded?

The WiTP interface runs at a fixed 1024 x 768, so you'll need at least that (which shouldn't be a problem).
