Re: Reverse slopes?

Cheers, let me know how it plays out! Some of these file templates have been here there and everywhere, it is always helpful if existing structures could be modified instead of adding new ones.

Re: Reverse slopes?

Just to understand this correctly, wouldn’t it be possible to mod the existing 3D Slope and/or Crest graphics for this purpose?

Re: Reverse slopes?

Hello, Jason pointed me to this thread. I am not sure I understand the request. Are you looking for a new side entry in a Reverse Slope? Would it have a Combat modifier, and how would it differ from Crest side, for instace? Or is this just for visuals, ie. a graphics mod.

Sorry, I don't own the WDS ...

2D view to match the 3D view. I like it. I'd like to see more pics of this if possible.

Absolutely, I will be posting here as progress happens. At the moment not much is, I am moving house at the end of month, shutting down the current mancave, booting up hopefully in a few weeks in the next ...

Re: Sneak Peeks, Coming Attractions, Works-In-Progress

Finally, the Scenario Information dialog is now modeless, so you can keep it open say together with Scenario Briefing dialog, while playing the game.

So if you've got a double display game rig, you can place these on the secondary display, while playing the game in primary display. The screen edge ...

Re: Sneak Peeks, Coming Attractions, Works-In-Progress

Spring Update sneak peeks!

My apologies, it has been quieter here than intended. Here's some news on the ME 2.10.30 Spring Update, targeted to release in May, we hope.

Tooltip improvements: for carrying units, also the loaded unit is now reported

The planned Spring update (targeted for May or thereabouts) now includes the updated 3D Tooltips with loaded units reported as well, when available.

Re: Campaign Series Cold War

^ Also visible in the picture is the dynamic scaling of 3D unit images, they are scaled up 15% just to see how it plays. Rather nicely?

Also: true unit shadows, instead of the opaque grey "shadow blobs" only available with legacy DirectDraw graphics stack.

Re: Campaign Series Cold War

To keep this thread active, and without screenshots / animations available, a quick note that yesterday I finished converting the 3D fire + explosions animations to play at 2D side as well. One of my long time wish-list items!

With something more visible from this weekend's work with the Cold ...

Re: another 3D mod in progress

Hi! Is it possible to download a graphic for the maps? I found the unit graphic via a link on Google, it’s high-class work! Unfortunately, I did not find a graphic for the maps.

Hi Sergobor, Bill's 3D art is now the default map for the isometric views in the reimaged 2.00 series, including the ...

Re: Campaign Series Cold War

Unit Silhouettes are back, this time as vector images by Jason. There are separate sheets for NATO and WP units, with almost 600 individual units portrayed per sheet. Hats off to our Jason!

This is an early mock-up, but they look rather neat don't they. Note that the German units do not yet have ...

Re: Scripting woes

Tip of the day from you resident programmer: larger code snippets in particular display better inside the code display tags:

Here is a sample of what I did to deal with a mechanized company (transport)

Re: Campaign Series Cold War

^ Oh, forgot to add, with the new high quality scaling algorithms available, I thought to try to add 15 % to 3D unit image sizes. Bigger the better, right? They are all hand drawn and deserve all the screen time they can have.

Re: Campaign Series Cold War

Today, something a bit different. I’d still like to take the time at some point to move all the Options menu items into a separate User Preferences dialog with tooltips and everything. But that will have to wait for another day. Or month.

With the new menu groupings and the options now in ...

Re: Campaign Series Cold War

This is going to be another phenomenal title from CS Legion, I can already tell. I'm a big fan of games that make creating maps easy for the end-user, as I find the ability to create custom scenarios for PBEM to be fundamental to the longevity of any computer wargame worth its salt. Regarding ...

Re: Campaign Series Cold War

Since December I’ve been working on the graphics engine, dissecting the legacy DirectDraw framework and replacing it with a modern DirectX-based one. Progress has been slow: the Map Editor is mostly done, but I’ve only just begun work on the Scenario Editor, with the game engine still waiting to ...

Re: Amazing game

Thank you to the developers for such an outstanding computer wargame. This is not a formal review but rather some highlights for anyone passing by who is thinking of picking this up:

This game is meaty, rich, and complex . The manual is hundreds of pages long. This is not a game you learn in a ...
