RE: Help - Have I got this right?

Sorry, forgot a bit. Is there a stockpile effect with critical materials? Do I have to wait before I see the effects of reduced rubber production?

Thanks again. This game is SOOOOOOOO improved on the original!!!!!!!!

RE: Help - Have I got this right?

Thanks for that. What about effect on aircraft production? Tyres, engine mountings, cockpit and electrical stuff, sexual gratification aids for the crew etc etc? I would have thought various aspects of aircraft production would be affected.

Help - Have I got this right?

<t> Hi. I'm playing 43 campaign as allies v AI and have reached Jan 44. I'm experimenting with a strategy to target 1 critical industry, destroy it as completely as possible and keep it so to see what effect it has on the wider industry performance, replacements etc.<br/>
I've chosen the rubber ...

RE: 44long scen--germ nitefighters crashing

<t> Hi. <br/>
<br/>
I played original BTR and experienced this so I've been looking out for it. I'm playing allies v AI 1943 campaign in new game and have seen it once, when a Ju 88 NF gruppe wiped itself out at 0 ft. Happened in Dec 43, if it helps.<br/>

Back to the obsession.....

<t> Used to play BTR all the time, and have just bought the new version. Really pleased with it; the game-breaking bugs are gone and the whole thing works just so much more realistically. Spitfires shoot things down, and Typhoons fight back!!!!!!<br/>
My uncle even appeared on the 313 Czech ...

RE: what does it take to hold Rangoon?

<t> Forgot to add; supply level is a major factor. I got the build up fast and early, before the Japs had air established and were busy in the South. Throughout, Rangoon, Pegu and Moulmein have been over 125000 supply between them, and its a major factor as the Japs extend their supply lines north ...

RE: what does it take to hold Rangoon?

<t> Hi. I'm currently playing Allies v AI in the scenario starting Dec 8th. I've reached Sept 42, and thought you might like to consider my experience of the campaign in Burma. The defence of Rangoon, over a 3 month period, has been my best ever wargaming blast in 40 yrs, and I'd recommend it.<br ...

RE: What's your luckest ship?

<t> DM Gamble. On ASW duty with 3 other DMs. She was torpedoed by an I-boat, and when the others forced the Jap sub to the surface with depth charge attacks, Gamble torpedoed the sub and sank it. Revenge, or what?<br/>
And then she made it back to Townsville with a very large hole in her side ...

RE: IF it is Spring 42, and you are the Allies, you are out of fuel!

<t> It's certainly something you need to keep in focus. I've reached mid-May in a campaign against Jap AI, and have avoided fuel shortages so far. I set up a conveyor belt of CS trips from LA to Pearl using AKs selected by capacity, so they all load at the same rate. Seems to work well and frees up ...

I can't I'm afraid. We've moved on a week since then.......bemused Imperial sailors have been fished out of the river for the last seven days.

RE: Help please......Kongo stranded and invisible!

<t> The problem is solved. After 4 days in the river off Rangoon, Kongo got what she deserved. While the crew were ashore eating colonial food in the waterfront bars, the meanest and most fierce captain in the Dutch navy led 5 DDs upriver, landing 21 shell hits and a torp. Kongo leapt a mile in the ...

Help please......Kongo stranded and invisible!

<t> Hi. Firstly, what a fantastic experience and such a massive improvement over WITP, which was brilliant in the first place........<br/>
April 42. My British cruiser task force bombarded Moulmein and was intercepted by 2 Kongos and smaller vessels. In a night battle, one BC was sunk by 3 ...

RE: Weak AA fire in major carrier clash?

<t> I'm playing the same scenario as Allies and had the same carrier battle at roughly the same time, but opposite results. No carriers hit, but both sides lost so much air they were out of action for weeks rebuilding air wings. Looking at your strike numbers, I would say the only difference was ...
