RE: 6. Grey ghost

My strategy was to full speed ahead into them but was sunk by torpedoes. Couldn't tell if it was ship launched or sub launched but they annihilated me, no chance.

NI - Needle in a Haystack - ASW Patrols

<t> In this scenario I've created a huge sea control zone for all of my ASW planes and surface warships to patrol. When an unknown surface or underwater contact is discovered, ALL of the units assigned to that zone stop what they're doing and make a bee-line for that unknown contact, even if they're ...

Spitfires carrying bombs

<r> I'm noticing in BTR that some of my spitfires variants are carrying 2x250lb bombs. With a plane like the P47, I can choose whether to swap out drop tanks for bombs but with my spits, I can't remove the bombs at all.<br/>

RE: Any tips for the Intercepting side?

<t> I've experimented with my 109's on direct-fighter instead of bounce-fighter and I'm finding they're getting better results against P38s/P47s/Spits than they were before; they're actually getting kills! This also seems to have taken care of the 'intercept raid' wrong altitude problem as they don ...

<t> I ran my own batch of test earlier today and ran them again now to verify and I'm seeing results that are consistently bloody. RE: How to use escorts in BOB

<t> As to the original question, I use the delay option more than layering at higher altitudes to protect my bombers. I like to put my 110's on close escort with 0 delay, have some 109's meet the formation at the english coast, again over the target, and again halfway home. These 109's tend to ...

RE: AA Movement Cost

<t> The low level 110/109 bombing raids are killing my airfields and I've been hoping to at least make them costly by placing flak everywhere (Jerry lost 12 109 Fighter/bombers in one raid on a well flak'ed base). AA Movement Cost

<t> I'm playing the 1941 BOB campaign as the British against the Germans and I'm noticing that when I go to the 'Move AA' option, it costs 20 movement points to place a 2lber pom pom AA unit that has a range of 4000. RE: Any way to speed up messages?

<t> Agreed with E. The game even on highest message delay and slowest clock speed zooms by on my machine. Raids fly by and if I'm not double-clicking the start/stop button to advance the action as little as possible, I miss a bunch of action pulses. The map scrolling is on steroids too; a quick ...
