RE: Deadly Phantoms

Thanks for the help guys, the base eventualloy did turn up, right next to two of my outlying systems, so I went over kill and send in everything I had while their capital ship monster fleet was busy somewhere, and managed to take care of them.

RE: Deadly Phantoms

I thought I had destroyed their base, it was right in a system I believe, unless it was someone else with a similar name.

To make things worse, they have a capital ship running around which is invincible :/

Deadly Phantoms

The Deadly Phantom pirates just turned up in my game, and they are merrily destroying everything I have with their 30+ cruiser, which pretty much has ruined the nice game i had going.

How the hell do I get rid of them? And can I turn them off next time I start a game?

Thanks for the help guys, it#s made a big difference already. I even took a colony in a war!

Now I have the phantom pirates thing, and it's really really annoying.

An independent Canada would solve this problem.

I would suggest this also.

RE: two questions

<t> I wouldn't mind a universal button for loss tolerences (All on Ignore losses, for example), though this wouldn't work for digging in, I think. And besides, I agree with Larry on this point; either I am in a mobile situation, so nobody digs in, or I am at my stop line or in retreat, in which case ...

Great AAR. I love seeing the Soviet player actually defend on these big Eastern monsters.

RE: The German - Soviet Alliance

<t> Well, there was already alot of Soviet-German cooperation pre-33. Also, without Hitler, it is unlikeley Germany would openly flout the Versaille treaty regarding military size limits (hence the 1920's agreements, infact).<br/>

Also, I don't really see what benefit Germany would have for ...

I can't seem to register in the member area! Is the official (non beta) patch on its way fairly soon? I haven't been keeping up for a while.

I have often wondered the same thing. All I know is that the attacker FROM the river hex attacks at only %70&nbsp;strength.

RE: Advantages of undivided units

I only like to divide recon units for max coverage, otherwise I will try to avoid it at all costs - they become far to weak, especially if your opponent does not follow suit.

I know about Paradox, its one of the reasons I have pretty much stopped buying their games until they are in the bargain bucket (which on Gamersgate is never).

I second larry's recomendation to find a human opponent. Also, I would suggest the Korea&nbsp; scenario playing as the UN as a good first scenario to learn the basics of the game.

RE: Fite Foward Defense

Personaly I like Fungwu's method. I have never played an Eastern front monster, but in many of the AAR's I have read, the Soviet player usually retreats and retreats untill he runs out of room. The Soviet players that actualyl stand and fight usually do alot better.

RE: Why another WWI game?

As has been said, WW1 has many more fronts then just the West, and even the western front is fascinating. And besides, what more fun for an armchair general then to try and break that kind of front and make it operationally mobile (tactically it could be very moible sometimes).
