RE: Don't blame our virtual admirals...real ones are....

<r> According to dorjun driver's link to the Court of grosseto: the ship lost engine power after five of the engine rooms began to take on water. Also a blackout throughout the ship. The ship was on "inertia and rudders" so you would expect a slightly expected surprising course at first. The ship ...

<t> The source of the Axis defeat in north Africa was the Magic decoding of all of Germany's messages. The British knew where and when to locate each of the merchant ships in the Med. Possession of Malta only made it easier for the RN and RAF to intercept the convoys. Also the lack of suitable ports ...

<t> Rommel made the same mistake in his defence of northern France in 1944 when used his infantry as labourers to help make the Atlantic Wall constructing forts, beach obsticles, clearing land, planting posts in wheat fields, instead of training them to better for their job. Looked good in the ...

RE: Japanese ships mostly found origin in British design?

Maybe the Japanese should bought all their ships from the UK, and that would have saved them the embarrassment of ship-designing blunders like having the aircraft carriers with the islands on the port-side. Very sloppy.

RE: Missing Sigint and Ops Report

If you missed reading your reports you can still find them in the save directory- unless you delete them, of course. Just Alt-tab and click on your WitPAE directory and find it there. You will have to read anything down if you have a bad memory.

RE: Shakedown Cruises

<t> Ships don't have to move to qualify for the shakedown die rolls, only ships disbanded in a port don't get the die roll. If Pearl Harbour is surrounded by Japanese subs and you don't want to risk going to sea for only a shakedown cruise you don't have to move. Just form a TF and stay in the hex ...

RE: Having a problem upgrading aircraft

You can upgrade an air unit that has fewer planes in the pool as long as it does not have a withdrawal date. Your unit doesn't have one so it should be able to upgrade with only three planes. It still needs to have the correct a/f size and supplies.
