RE: For those who are complaining about WITE, will you play Unity of Command?

Have you applied for the Beta on their forums? the NDA prevents me from answering any of your questions, but there is a way for you to find out, I guess.

RE: Patch for German Version

<t> I still think that it is odd that the serial number is refused. It isn't so much the language that annoys me but that I have to rely on the German distributor to not ignore the support. I see no reason why patches - beta patches in particular - shouldn't be international. Curiously enough, it ...

I had no idea they published portions of "Hitler Moves East" online. It looks like few chapters are posted. The material is somewhat dated and more than a little partisan, but I much prefer reading Paul Carell (aka Paul Schmidt) to Glantz ...

RE: Accelerating Japanese airframes

<t> Concerning the switching of models, I always assumed that it went along the same lines as switching production factories, i.e. the damage of a factory when switching from one aircraft to another is determined by the difference between the two planes' durability. Aircraft subtypes of the same ...

Is there a maximum range from which supplies are drawn? Because I have been trying to get supplies to Darwin for several weeks now, with very little, if any, success.

RE: Float planes as fighters?

<t> I don't think fighter ammo is actually modelled, at least in no other way than gun jamming and losing engine pressure are being modelled, in that going out of ammo is just a random combat event. I am sure we have all seen fighters making one pass and then being out of ammo, or firing and firing ...

Lost CVL Ryouji to an allied SCTF on December 10th 1941...and then the rest of mini KB to allied carriers a few weeks later. Not a good day, not a good day at all.

RE: Float planes as fighters?

They can actually fly CAP, but they suffer terribly against anything approaching a modern front line fighter. Not worth the airframes in my opinion, but I always upgrade them to Jakes as soon as I can anyway.

RE: allied opening gambits and strategies

<t> I have managed a good Fortress Rabaul in a PBEM once, throwing two Aussie brigades + a couple Battalions on it ASAP. Literally start loading them on December 8th. Later managed to sneak through 16th and 34th (?) US Regiments plus two tank Battalions, which made for a hilarious suprise when 144th ...

RE: Historical Lessons Learned from the Game

<t> Once an amphibious task Force was loaded, the loading manifest was burned to prevent it from falling into enemy hands. Therefore, it was impossible to unload a specific unit from a task force to make room for another. The entire task Force had to disembark and embark again.<br/>

RE: Power Balance

<t> Indeed - stuff gets broken in war, that is the way it goes. The first half of 1942, at the very least, is the time where the Allies basically trade one thing for another - a cruiser for an invasion delayed by a week, an island for forces to hold another island, a fleet carrier for 60 trained ...

Manila can upgrade to size 9 I believe. It's shorter than to the home islands, but it's still quite a trip.
