Re: PINK??!!

Never mind. Figured it out. I wrote my switch as -deepColour instead of -deepColor, the way you colonials do.

PINK??!!

I just bought and downloaded WITP:AE from the Matrix games site (after my previous game was corrupted). It is version 1.0.0.1079

Big Problem: All text boxes are backlit in hot PINK with white lettering. Virtually unreadable. Is there any way to change this? The game is basically unplayable with ...

Re: US West Coast supply

I have Version 1.8.21.27.2 Jul 31 2022………I guess that means Version 27? So I’m humped. I’m more than a year into this game, real time. Not going to start over. Can I update and still play the same game?

US West Coast supply

I’ve brought this up here before. I’m playing Allied, at January 27, 1943. The West Coast of North America is not producing much supply. Red exclamation marks everywhere. Becoming a problem. I was told that eventually supply will begin to ramp up and sort itself out. Not yet, I guess?

Support vessels and cargo capacity

I’ve read the seminal paper made by a person of this community about supply vessels and their functions. Brilliant. Useful. I know I need to load AE and AKE with supply in order for them to supply vessels. But why do AS and AD have cargo capacity? The reason is not explicitly mentioned in the paper ...

Thanks for the info. I’ve got 41,516 points, Japanese is 23,964, so not even 2:1.

Japanese Surrender

I've read more than once from players on this forum that the Japanese surrendered to them on the first day of 1943. I assumed a certain set of negative conditions would have to exist for the Japanese to do this. I was dreading that day (because I love this game), but it didn't happen.

I'm now on ...

Hailstone

I’m about to do an Operation Hailstone strike on Truk. Recon shows several BB and CA in the port, not in TFs. To attack these ships, should I set my Dauntlesses and Avengers to Naval Attack or to Port Attack?

LCMs

I’m trying to understand LCMs (Landing craft/barges). Their range is tiny, their load is minuscule. You can’t even get a Marine Raider unit on one. Can’t attach them to amphibious fleets. What is their purpose?

Replacement squadrons on CVEs

What is the process for getting replacement aircraft from the replacement squadrons on CVEs onto fleet carriers? Do you have to transfer the whole squadron at once? Does it happen automatically if the CVE and fleet carriers are close enough? If true, how close?

West Coast Supply generation

I’m playing as Allied at the December 18, 1942 mark. The American West Coast is still not creating enough, supply. Fuel is no problem, Los Angeles is closing on 2 million units, but I’m scrounging for supply. Does this get better?

Do AR ships need onboard supplies to repair ships? What about the other repair ships?

Re: CVE Questions

Another CVE question:

I recently sent a CVE with a transport fleet to Darwin. After severing the CVE from the transport TF and making it an Air Combat TF just north of Darwin, it immediately attacked a Japanese tanker fleet on the island just north of Darwin with it's 18 SBDs. But, after leaving ...

Re: Minefields

In the “ships sunk” section of the information panel, the cause of the sinking is shown. I found several Japanese ships sunk by mines, and quite a few ‘unknowns’, mainly destroyers. I suppose at least some of them would be from mines.

Minefields

Playing as Allied at Nov. 1942, I’ve started planting minefields in Japanese ports and likely avenues of ship transit. But I don’t seem to get notifications of Japanese ships hitting these mines (if any have yet), and I haven’t seen any notifications in the OP. Do you get notified if a Japanese ship ...
