Re: Missing combat report in combatreport.txt

Sync-bug is a problem that appears from time to time. Various reasons have been suggested for it and my take in games against the Computer Japan is that if I do not save and exit for a long period data begins to vanish from the screen. Could be all the LCUs at a base, could be a TF, could be ...

Re: Tribal class DDs

I have read that the Tribal Class were not a "cruiser" design per se, but a "Destroyer Leader" designed to lead a flotilla of smaller DDs. The Germans were building theirs with 5.9" guns. The French "Le Terrible" class (not sure I got the nameship for the class right) had 5.3" guns. The US had the ...

Re: Next Generation Tracker: Staff Officer Companion

Possible bug in the Force Structure tab, NGT v6.41.

In the stock scenario I based mine off of there are two Waziristan Divisions. One with a 411206 delay and the other with a 9999 delay. The attach button screen displayed both.

I think the 9999 delay is for players choosing random ...

Re: Back and Better Than Ever Vettim 89(A) vs Greasylake(J)

Did you check the ASW rating of APDs? They are pretty good for the early phase of the war. And they are useful throughout the war (as fast transports) whereas the 4-stacker DEs are soon obsolescent when newer ASW vessels arrive.

Re: Next Generation Tracker: Staff Officer Companion

I keep ABDA command and assign sub-units I want to make unrestricted to it. Costs 1/4 of the full cost for assigning the unit to a different command.

If 1st Australian Corps command is still unrestricted, you can assign those LCUs in Malaya to it at full cost but they will be unrestricted for ...

Re: Indomitable - doesn't it withdraw? If so, maybe you can withdraw it at Bombay and pick up some VPs for early withdrawal. Of course you have to repair it to under 50 points of damage if possible.

Re: Bo...oops in the South Pacific - LST (A) vs SierraJuliet (J) Bottlenecks Mod

Impressive job by the AI! Keep up the good work!
My only criticism is that there are too many non-combat incidents like a sub being detected but no attacks on it being made. Ships have to make an attack to gain any experience points so simple detection is not significant.

vettim89: AMPH units were seen unloading at Moulmein but when I opened the turn - no Japanese units - odd.
Only time I have seen that sort of thing is when my amphib landing aborted (enemy strength or damage to amphibs) and reloaded the troops still alive during the same turn.

Re: How to actually open the Japanease Shipbuilding Menu?

It's not so much a shipbuilding menu as it Is a build-alter menu. As a Japanese player if you click on Ship Availability in the Intelligence menu (hotkey I) you will you see along with the list of scheduled reinforcement ships that you also have the option to accelerate or halt the building of ...

Its a matter of opinion. Many think 28 beta has too many bugs in it and it is still under development. I recommend as others do to use 26b. Link provided below.

Re: Naval support - what is it?

Could the fact that you used amphibious rather then cargo or transport TF negated the affect NS would have?

Cargo or transport TF cannot unload at a dot base and they cannot use port facilities at an enemy base.

In a friendly port NS does help but the unload rates are different, per TF and ...

The training chart has an error. 'Naval bomb' skill is not in play at 1000 feet; that level is for Low Naval attack.

Not sure APDs can load an artillery piece bigger than a mortar. Did you try it yet?
