Re: Sailing in harms way: InHarmsWay (J) vs Andav (A) Scen2

If the unit has sole control of the hex near Kunming, it will stop the flow of supplies and therefore stop the retreat path. But there is a Chinese unit in the hex and it will have to be evicted first.

Sometimes they don't think things through; for example, that bar in the shower should have plastic bottles, not glass! :roll:

Condolences. I have seen how others with sciatica suffer - must be really hard for WITP-AE addicts who have to sit a lot! :x

Re: pwzlink.dat file - Panama canal transit time

I often send the xAKs that show up in Balboa to Cristobal to load supply - bigger port and more supply there. It usually takes one turn. Maybe the trip estimator is off for that route?

Edit to add: Scenario one, version .1126A, standard original map.

Re: Leader Assignments

LGU? SGU?

LGU=Large Ground Unit
SGU=Small Ground Unit

Thanks for the clarification! My guess is No. Leaders are designated in the database as HQ leaders or LCU leaders (I think large and small LCUs are separate designations). So when you want to change leaders the pool of available leaders ...

I think John 3rd was involved with the creation of that version. He is presently doing an AAR with Big Red called Rising Sun, Falling Skies. https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopi ... 3#p4723703

Only the first turn - it's hard coded so it can't extend to the second day.

Re: Never Thought I'd Start Another One - tc464 (A) vs. Mike (J)

On extended range you have little fuel to engage in combat. Drop tanks give you more to work with, but if you fly out too far on the DT, you will also end up with no fuel to do combat with.

Edit to add: Don't forget, the further out you go, the bigger the sky you have to cover. Sweeps are OK ...

Hmm. So, crossing a hex side you don't own will automatically trigger a shock attack regardless of how much AV you have in the hex. That makes sense. Guess I won't be advancing into Chungking from the SE at all. Yep, an infantry regiment/brigade will get that guard duty.

Thanks a lot for ...

Re: Weapons damage and repair

Yes, the devices aboard a ship can be damaged separately and the repair cost is related to the load cost of the device. The other system damage related to the damaged devices might be a placeholder to show the number of devices needing repair?

Those AMCs from NZ and Australia are quite valuable. Some or all of them can be later converted to LSI(L)s - the British/Commonwealth version of APAs. For this reason I send them off-map to haul supply from ECUSA or UK to Cape Town.

Re: Ship repair points

The Shipyard is not just the Repair Dock - it also has cranes, pumps, shore-based electrical power and skilled men to assist the ships. The minor float damage can be removed without using the drydock. I think you need to look at each ship to see whether minor or major damage is being removed.

There are a few Allied units that appear at remote islands during the game. Penrhyn Island will get at least one more unit, so will ACTUAL Bora Bora. Best way to see these in advance is to look at the Intel Report on LCU Reinforcements and sort the list by arrival location. Very few arrive at remote ...

Re: Is Seabee Alpha available anywhere?

It's Windows, so it should have an X at the top left of the window to close that app (the game). The game itself has a band at the top with buttons on the left and a few on the right. On the right is an X on a red button that will close the current session but not shut down the entire game. You can ...

caine : CurSpeed

Why would you need to know the speed of the ship's dog? Wouldn't Cru(ise)Speed be more useful? ;)

Not sure I remember well. I would say it was because Curspeed is Maxspeed taking into account damage. This way you can assess damage to speed faster.

Just noticed your ...
