<t> Operational Update Johnjohn vs the AAR<br/>
<br/>
This is the current update on this game. I have reached the Marianas and built the bases to maximum. Opportunities to advance: The Bonin Islands or Northern Philippines. Tested invasion of Iwo Jima. 6 Divisions invaded and were repulsed by 66 ...

RE: Windows 10 taskbar driving me nuts

For the purpose of this discussion, the SSD is moot. I have moved the game to the D drive along with the keys to launching it. I just cannot get any switches to load.

RE: Windows 10 taskbar driving me nuts

<t> The problem with the SSD is two fold. One, it is solid state and has limited writes to it. Second, 128gb is not much space. Many programs, like this one, want to load to the C drive. This laptop is designed that exe files (the install) go on the C and everything else on the D. The ssd is fixed ...

Sorry, my error. The first desktop referred to the desktop screen on the laptop. The second desktop referred to the desktop computer that was replaced with the laptop.

RE: command line switches

<t> A followup. I no longer am able to login, the shortcut has gone haywire and reloading the shortcut does not work. Every attempt at getting around the "autorun" fails. I cannot get any switches to be recognized regardless of how many tries I take. The shortcut did not work without always going to ...

RE: Windows 10 taskbar driving me nuts

It did not help me. I still have unbelievable bad lag on clicks. Takes three hours what used to take 3 minutes. Terrible. Altering the switches has not helped either.

<t> It is not working for me. Screen size does not adjust, speeds are terrible, very slow. I have a new laptop with SSD drive (C) and 1 TB (D). I cannot get the program to work properly and adjusting switches gets me nowhere. Its a ten. Thank God I still have the other one with the 7. Lightning fast ...

RE: War in the Pacific base game - Workaround for Windows 8/8.1 and 10

<t> I have the AE Beta, loaded as an update the new version game load. The game is virtually unplayable, taking minutes between clicks. None of the suggested fixes have worked and I don't know how to fix the shortcut screen info. I did get the latest save from my old computer to load and work, but I ...

<t> Happy Labor Day!<br/>

Meant to reply sooner. The AAR packed Pagan in my campaign and I took the three dots surrounding it. Those are marginal bases, small harbors, small Air Fields, and not much help. I use them to pound the Pagan force while the larger islands get upgraded. I will ...

RE: Sleepless on Samoa, the Sequel (wneumann vs Jolly Pillager)

<t> Comment:<br/>
<br/>
Small works in the Solomons and to a lessor extent in PNG. But then what? The southern approach is likely out, too well defended. The cenpac approach is likely out, same issues in the Marianas, so then what? The only way to ensure safe supply is to build an air bridge ...

RE: Sleepless on Samoa, the Sequel (wneumann vs Jolly Pillager)

<t> Comment:<br/>
<br/>
I remember discussing the dots as an alternative strategy quite awhile ago when direct assault proved too difficult. You have implemented it well. Pillager is now in a bind, 30 LCUs which now are isolated and unlikely to be utilized without great difficulty.<br/>

Correction (Johnjohn)

New Mexico did not reach West Coast. She nearly sank off the Marshalls when temp repairs failed. Ducked into the floating drydock at Kwajalene. Out for the war most likely.

I considered mentioning the northern option, but it is really tenuous at best. Bases can be built up, and the Aleutians can support each other, but the bases are few and far between spread out in a line. All must be developed and supply is challenging given the weather ...
