RE: Space / Tactical Fleet Combat Game / Progressing * Updated Screenshots *

<t> Hello !<br/>
<br/>
That game of yours seems interresting. I have question though : one feature I absolutely loved with "Begin" was that you could only give one command per turn (either to your ship, or giving general instructions to groups of other ships). Is it the same in your game ? <br ...

RE: Creature Contest: Eraser

<t> That sounds fun. These creatures would swarm our ships to repair and nurse them, but also kill every single living beings. I love that antagonism.<br/>
<br/>
One of these creatures spotting ships or a system infested with "parasites" could run and call its mates for some cleaning. So if you ...

RE: Creature Contest : The esrever – The creature living backward

<t> Hmm, well that is one solution. Keeping in mind that they will go out of the cradle AFTER they would have died, and destroyed everything (really think of a movie played backward in the middle of one played in the normal direction).<br/>
<br/>
So the trick is to make the game believe that you ...

RE: Creature Contest : The esrever – The creature living backward

<t> Remember, it is behaving backward ! <br/>
So it would actually look like a gigantic space cloaca coming to the planet, swallowing those weird and giant egg shaped things (legends say that a few thousands years ago, terrible monsters appeared from nowhere and went to sleep in these). <br/>
And ...

RE: Creature Contest : The esrever – The creature living backward

Ha ! I was (and still am) so proud of my idea... But it seems that I will win the palm of the least popular one. [8|]
That's quite an achievement though !

Well, I still plan to take the time for drawing some technical schemes before the end of the contest...

RE: Creature Contest-The Arachtons

Congratulation for having drawn some art design ! (You might have been the only one so far, aren't you ?)

The creature eats ships to replicate. That's simple but efficient. I like that (Though, maybe not that different from the pirates...)

RE: Mixed bag of creatures

<t> And to start :<br/>
<br/>
The asteroid monster : A giant monster is lurking in an asteroid, ready to extend its tentacles to grab any ship flying by. Destroying that creature is impossible, however shooting at the asteroid might release its prey. So you should either avoid the area, or travel ...

Mixed bag of creatures

<r> Reading the rules, I saw that we should post only one idea per person. Which seems fine to me. However for those who have tons of ideas, but can only post one ; or for those who don't have the time to work on a full description, I propose the "mixed bag of creatures" : fell free to post as many ...

That could be fun and a light way to play Distant Worlds...

<t> They probably were civil ships. If they are, then they are not colonising but mining minerals and moving stuff and people around (in the base that you already own, or to the other nations bases)<br/>
<br/>
The player can't control the civil sector. So that's normal, and you can't do much about ...

I could very well see organic borders depending on local strength, that too empires could decide to fix through a treaty (thus power behind the line doesn't change border anymore).

RE: Expansion Discussion - Borders/Territory

<r> Hello,<br/>

Here is an example of the way an application for the game "stars!" calculated the borders (it was a third party program, so did not have any impact on gameplay). I think that is was based on population density and firepower. With the colour intensity, you can see how strong ...

<t> I have read that Galactopedia uses Internet explorer. Does that the diplomacy screen does the same too ? I had IE6 on my computer, and had never been very happy with the way it displayed pages (and thus used something else).<br/>

I have tried to install ie8. But haven't noticed much ...
