Re: Advice Assigning Const and RAD SU to Locked HQs

Thanks! What are your thoughts on my question:

" Rulebook Table says that Army Group is assigned 16 Const and 4 Eng SUs. Army: 3 and 3. Corps 2 and 2. Question: Should I follow this Table when I manually assign the SU Const and Eng units to the HQs? "

Do you follow this guideline?

Thanks again ...

Re: Advice Assigning Const and RAD SU to Locked HQs

Q2. No, you will kill the fbd. Attach floating German 'r.a.d'. su's and Romanian 'rail' su's to an empty corps hq, lock it and use it as a poor man's mobile fbd.

Use the commanders report name filters to find them easily.

There might be a bug as I've had a few abandon the Romanian hq I assigned ...

Re: Playing Axis vs AI Soviet on "Normal"

Don't stress too much about perfect turn 1's. Seriously, half this forum is about turn bloody 1. As long as you pocket / destroy as much as you can and move those rail repair units forward on the key double track lines unhindered, you are good.

Winter is what you should be worrying about, not turn ...

Shipping container Crisis

There is a massive supply backlog at all the German ports and a shortage of supply at the front. (December '41)

I have changed most of these ports to priority zero for a few turns but nothing has happened.

Hamburg is an import port but that's also got a massive stock so ...

Re: How to approach the winter of 1941 as axis

Thanks Jango and Loutro.

I find myself now in T51 (June '42), and I think my campaign has turned into a dud. I've tried a few probing attacks along several different fronts and don't see how I can make a breakthrough. Below are examples of the lines I'm against. CVs for the soviets are generally ...

Re: Defending Greater Germania 1942 - Includes combined WitW and WitE2 AARs

Awesome AAR. I've read the whole lot in a week! :D

Quick question. What are you leaving Moscow alone for? A Corps with all the siege guns and INF divisions with 2 x pioneers and flamethrower tanks attached to each will chew through those hexes relentlessly.

Also, If you win in the east, you have ...

Re: The Rumble in the Tundra, a Vet (Sov) JB (Axis) rematch

Another AAR fails to make it past winter. Mud in this case. A real shame for us in the audience looking to pick up blizzard and mid & late game tips.

This was a balanced game and should have continued.

How many turn 1's do we need to see?

Moan over.

Re: Playing Axis vs AI Soviet on "Normal"

Do the scenarios first before drowning yourself in the GC.

The air war isn't that complicated if you don't go 100% " what does every setting do ?" mode.

AS for AI Air, found I had to babysit it, and always forgot to hit the "Do AI Air stuff" button at the end of each turn so most of the Luftwaffe ...

Re: Returning player can't take cities

Ah.. Thanks for that.

The city fell! First time in Wite1 or 2 I've ever won that damn scenario.

2-3 pioneer companies attached to each of 9 divisions, good Corps leaders and 8 of the heaviest artillery support units on the Corps and it fell in two attacks!

I hope not every city is like that ...

Re: How to approach the winter of 1941 as axis

I think that taking Leningrad in 1941 is a must. This does 2 things:
30 points (it is a game...)
It frees up 4th Panzer Armee

In my current game, I took Leningrad on Turn 21.
After Leningrad falls, I keep 4th Pz Arm near Leningrad until early 42. I put the panzer divisions in towns with ...

Re: Returning player can't take cities

Time I don't have in a 16 turn scenario. To move SU's to Leningrad bound divisions takes 3 turns.

Move SU to target army.
Assign SU to division.
Wait a turn till SU becomes active.

So if I'm attacking Leningrad turn 12 or 13 I need to start the shuffle turn 9. That's a lot of specific ...

Returning player can't take cities

Hello all
After a loooooong hiatus I'm itching to start a new GC but decided to try the RtL scenario to see what's changed.

What seems to have changed is that cities are now death stars without a convenient exhaust port.

I have Leningrad surrounded on 4 sides with 2 turns to go, and have taken ...

Do i do that each mission after i complete the objectives? I assumed the scenario would end on its own. Do missions not end till the timer runs out?

Ending a mission

Daft question from returning player.

I'm on the first mission of the chains of war dlc, blue dawn. A 9 hr mission to destroy artillery and missile launchers.

All destroyed. Now what? Do I have to wait for time limit to expire or trigger something or just quit the scenario?

Re: Strike planner / flight size / WRA help needed

Can you explain what you did here?

1) Changed the WRA on the 6-plane flight to 1 round and 1 unit.
There are 14 types of land target in the WRA. Do you change them all all to "1 rnd, 1 unit"

2) Had the mission logic regenerate the flight plan .

How do i do this? Can i do it in-flight or only ...

Re: Strike planner / flight size / WRA help needed

This is the old "Wooden leg" scenario. I had to add more tankers as the AI has changed since it was released and you need more fuel now.

package 5534, 6 x F-15, each carrying 1 x 1,000lb LGB.

6 x targets, flight size of 6. Default WRA. Only one bomb gets released and the other 5 planes just circle ...

Strike planner / flight size / WRA help needed

Scenario: Wooden leg.

Target: PLO HQ. 6 buildings. 6 x F-15's, each with a single LGB.

I want each plane to attack a separate building with its single 1,100gg bomb.

In the old days, I'd have setup 6 x strike missions......

What's the smart way to do this now? My experiments have resulted in 1 ...

Boarding LCU (Tiny 1304.1)

My goto scenario after a hiatus (Raven 21 is down) Has troops embarking from LCU craft as well as helo inserted. That's all well and good but how on earth do I get Mech inf & tanks back onto a LCU and a SEAL team back onboard their Huey once their mission is complete?
