RE: determined outcome

<t> Nice discussion guys. A lot of interesting points and to me the most important being to me that Soviets avoid pockets while Axis is doomed in blizzard. Whatever you do, 1 million men are disabled from the start. And, as was discussed, you cannot launch Fall Blau because Soviets are not forced to ...

RE: determined outcome

<t> Agree. Despite 9.1 millions inflicted losses, Soviet union has 80k arty, 23k planes (having destroyed 24k!) and 15k armored vehicles. I am holding Leningrad till Yaroslavl in the north, I held all big southern cities till Voronoezh and I am 5 hexes from Moscow. I encircled 250 k men in the north ...

RE: determined outcome

<t> Still, i believe you can do as axis whatever you like and keep destroying soviet forces (January 1943 8.7 millions vs 2.2 millions) and they gain every turn more men, tanks and planes. No reward for taking and holding most big towns in western russia. It cannot be that you play (yes, it is a ...

RE: determined outcome

<t> I realize that we play a (very nice and extremely well made) historical game, no doubt against that. But I want to suggest to be able to do better as historical germany did if not making their mistakes (Stalingrad, Leningrad, stand to the last man). It would be very motivating to drain manpower ...

determined outcome

If you dont win as Axis in 1941 you are determined to loose. Somehow the game feels "fixed" whether or not you survive blizzard reasonably or not. What is the fun part uf such determinism? I dont know.

RE: Please Sir, send the 105mm AA guns to the front!

I have the same problem. 400 105 mm AA guns, 100 Tigers and 360 Stug IIIb (?) waiting in the pool. Needs to be fixed since my panzer divisions hardly get replacements (medium tanks). In addition, I have aboout 170 BT-70 as light tanks.

Thoughts in AXIS AI Game November 1942

<t> I survived Blizzard pretty well (-500'000 men) but lost approximately 16 hexes with AGC but almost nothing in the north and south. It seems to be wise to retreat and only hold strong points for one or two turns. As such, I never got outfanked (yes, it is AI) and it was ok for me. In spring and ...

Frustrating

<t> This GC 1941 is just a frustrating experience for an axis player, at least for me against the AI. Not only BLizzard destroys a game which lasted forever to reach winter 1941. Also that the Soviets immediately get stacks of 3 fully equipped divisions all over the place make me feel bad. Any ...

mudd results in isolated units?

all of a sudden when mudd sets in, a lot of my axis forces are isolated close to Leningrad and in the South. Any help?[&:] There is no enemy hex or enemy unit in the rear. Or I cannot find them...
