Don't delete the old save, if there is really something wrong with it you can post for the developers to look at.

Also, don't update again until you finish your new game. :)

It will go to the spaceport which is nearest to the place where it is building.

Not sure if it checks to make sure the correct resources are available, probably it does.

You have to set the fleet posture for each fleet individually.

If you leave it set to the default - 'Attack' 'Anywhere' the fleet will attack any targets of opportunity ie Pirates or players you are at war with.

This may be something you already know, if so, disregard.

When ships are done repairing they give the same message as when they are built.

Also, ships will go to repair after any mission when they take any damage - without you telling them to repair.
