RE: Noob question

Can anyone help explain how to air transport the remaining US/GB airborne regiments from N. Africa to the newly captured airfields on Sicily? The method on the UI and on what turn is the earliest I can do this?

Thanks.

RE: Noob question

Sorry I took so long to clarify. We've been camping in Washington's Grand Coulee for the past few days and there was no internet.

What I meant was how to air transport the remaining regiments of the US and GB airborne divisions, AFTER the first 2 regiments are air dropped?

Noob question

I've read the relevant sections in the manual, but still can't seem to figure out how to air transport all the WA airborne regiments over as follow-up on turn 2?

RE: Uses for different bombers question

<t> I'm surely not an expert on this game, but I think if you check out the stats for a 4 engine vs 2 engine you will see the larger plane can fly farther and with a greater payload. Therefore the 4 engines are usually used with a more strategic purpose in mind, and the 2 engine more tactical. But ...

RE: Can I get a refund if this game if it's not what I hope?

I'm a vet WitE player, but only 1 week now with WitW. I enjoy this newer game a lot, and am still getting used to things. It's got to be the most detailed wargame I've ever played, computer or board.

Just the way I like it. [:D]

Optimal Air Set-Up

Any advice on the proper settings for the first turn WA? I've learned enough I'm going to wade into my first campaign game and it will be Italy.

Thanks for any assiatnce.

RE: Air Settings - Turn 1

<t> Thanks kindly. I wasn't doing those 3 things the way you suggest...<br/>
<br/>
1. Was AI'ing the recon, vs manually targeting specific ones. And even then I wasn't sure it was doing much.<br/>
2. Was totally ignoring the attacking aircraft type.<br/>
3. Was wasting quite a few sorties ...

RE: Air Settings - Turn 1

<t> The reason I ask is that the Germans originally estimated they destroyed a little over 3k Soviet planes when Barbarossa was launched (later research showed the number actually closer to 4k), and yet both manually or with AI the best I can achieve is about 2500, and usually less than 2k. So any ...

Air Settings - Turn 1

<t> I enjoyed War in the East a few years ago, remembering the satisfaction of taking both Moscow and Leningrad, and the frustration of dealing with the Russian winter.<br/>

I'd like to fire up a campaign again now that I discovered the big patch, but would appreciate counsel on where to set ...

How do I merge

It's GT3, and I want to merge the 3 regiments of 129th Division. All 3 are in the same hex, all are supplied, and all haven't moved this turn. When I click on one them to merge, it says there are no units to merge with? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

2 FBD questions

<t> I'm finishing up my 2nd turn in the GC as Germany.<br/>
<br/>
1. I gathered from reading the forums the German starts with 5 FBD units, but I've only been able to locate 4, 1 in the north, 2 in the center, and 1 in the south. Are there 5, or does one come in as a reinforcement soon?<br/>

Happy with this

<t> I'm sure many have done much better, but on normal setting, I destroyed 3,103 Soviet aircraft on the ground in the first turn, losing but 80. It brought up a question though. I noticed after the first air raids were complete, if I pressed the AI button again, a second round of attacks occurred ...

RE: railroad repair question

Thanks a lot folks.

I used the repair command successfully but it still left 1 point of damage. How do you take it to zero?
