RE: maybe a long battle problem?(1.05.53Beta)

I found during the first blizzard that if an Axis unit was attacked many times in a single turn (approx 5 or so), it finally did not "show up" to the battle, and a 0 CV would be reported and the unit would retreat. This appears to be what happened in the last example showing in your gif.

I noticed this as well, and the in-game rail system does perform exactly as depicted on the map, and in reality.

RE: My biggest issues with the game at the moment

<t> Why is it assumed by some that the game must be designed in a way that allows the player to distribute forces and remain under the C&C cap across the board? It seems obvious that it was a design decision to provide more forces than once has C&C capacity to manage (on both sides), and that it is ...

What does it take to isolate Leningrad? Do you have to capture or isolate all the ports on the eastern side of Leningrad (including Sviritsa) ?

Fixed.

I tried the 1.05 version with Axis set to 125% and Soviets at 80% (Challenging setting).

Those are Hard settings, not Challenging. Challenging is AI 110%, player 90%.

<t> I just finished my first '41 GC against a Challenging Soviet AI.&nbsp; I won a decisive victory in Nov '43.&nbsp; The AI put up a pretty tough battle until Leningrad fell in fall 42, and Moscow in winter 42/43.&nbsp; After that things went south quickly.&nbsp; The 41/42 blizzard was tough for me ...

It looks like NW Leningrad and Pavlovo were not adjacent to enemy unit.&nbsp; I do not believe that a city suffers damage to its production until an enemy unit is adjacent (and possibly attacking?).&nbsp; This has been my experience, at least.

<t> Guys, I think by "mine" he meant "my".<br/>

Units refit best when they are:<br/>
1) on a working rail line;<br/>
2) in range of their higher HQ;<br/>
3) away from the front line; and<br/>
4) there are armaments and manpower available in your pools.<br/>

I'm not sure of the stats for the Axis / Soviet war, but in 1939 the Poles scored many of their panzer kills with arty, either in indirect barrages, or (particularly) in a direct fire role.

Soviet rifle corps have lots of arty.

If you isolate the eastern ports altogether (by linking with the Finns) then you isolate the Leningrad area as well.&nbsp; Cutting the rail is not enough.

<t> There is not a rail bridge across the Straight of Kerch, and I do not believe there ever was one.&nbsp; The two rail systems are not linked, and if you want to conduct offensive operations on the other side you will need to use air or sea, or go the long route via Rostov.<br/>

<t> I second The SNAFU's experiences.&nbsp; Since the most recent patch(es?) the Soviet AI in my 41 GC game on Challenging has been acting very strange.&nbsp; After I took Moscow huge gaps were opened up in the lines, at one point the AI only had 2 rifle brigades for the entire front south of ...
