How can I create this planning tool/map?

<r> Here's what I want to do: (as a newbie still learning the game I am obsessed with RTM: Crossing the Border so I'll use it as an example).<br/>
<br/>
From reading Guderian's <U><s></s>Panzer Leader<e></e></U> and Glantz's <U><s></s>The Initial Period of War on the Eastern Front 22 ...

RE: What am I doing wrong?

Can someone help me find this "toawlog" ? I can't seem to locate the option to run it, or locate the directory the file is in.

It looks like something I'd like to learn more about.

RE: Movement prediction vs actual

Thank you Lemay. I think I'm starting to catch on. I hope you'll allow me to resume this discussion in the future, as there is a new version of RTM and my example is thus modified by the new scenario somewhat.

Thanks again for the explanations.

Computer vs computer -- way to slow down?

<t> I'm trying to use the computer vs computer play mode (RTM - Crossing the Border) as a tool to better understand this game. Unfortunately the speed at which the game progresses on my system (i7 2.67GHz; not blazing by any stretch) is just too fast to learn by. I can barely follow the movement ...

RE: Movement prediction vs actual

<r> Thanks for the new version, Kunz. I see you made several changes. I see the railroad repair probability has been upped dramatically <SM sm="happy0065.gif">[sm=happy0065.gif]</SM>. I see several other changes as well. Would you be willing to share your thoughts on some of these?<br/>

RE: Blog or twitter account of panzer leaders?

Thank you, Klink. I purchased Guderian's Panzer Leader last week and I find it to be quite informative. Makes Rob Kunz's RTM-Crossing the Border scenario all the more enjoyable.

Thanks again

RE: Movement prediction vs actual

<r> Finally, if I first evaporate the Northwest-most fixed Arty unit with the adjacent 17th Panzer Div, 39th Rgt, I get the following screenshot.<br/>
<br/>
Two questions: <br/>
<br/>
1) The first entered hex now costs only 2 points instead of 3. It's still enemy-held and still adjacent to an ...

RE: Movement prediction vs actual

<r> If I instead move the Panzer into the first hex (predicted cost = 3, actual cost = 3) THEN mouse over my desired path I get the following screen shot. <br/>
<br/>
Note now the hex north of the fixed Arty unit is predicted as 4 instead of 3, which turns out to be the actual cost. Why is that ...

RE: Movement prediction vs actual

<r> Thank you both, Lemay, Klink, for your input. I've been trying today to get a better handle on this. I have "No Borders" on. The additional movement costs chart is informative, but I am still not able to piece it all together. It looks like I am struggling with movement costs related to: "Enemy ...

Movement prediction vs actual

<t> I am somewhat confused about movement. When I left click to select a unit and mouse over to where I am thinking of moving the unit I get a movement path visible, complete with the movement cost for each hex on this projected path. The thing is at times if my movement path shows, for example, 3-3 ...

Blog or twitter account of panzer leaders?

<t> I realize this is probably asking more than could be reasonably expected but are their sources of information, reasonably available, that would allow me to read exactly how far a particular Panzer unit (or ideally any unit involved in an operation) had traveled on each day of the RTMoscow ...

RE: Rail repair question

<r> Thank you both, Klink, Kunz, for your replies. I had indeed forgotten about the Russian rail gauge problem. Oh, those pesky logistical details...It looks like I have v 3.4.0.202, and I'm a little unclear about updates, but I seem to have RR repair units scattered about at the start as opposed to ...

Rail repair question

<t> I played a complete game of Road to Moscow - Crossing the Border using the Standard Rules (yup, I'm a noob). Part of my success as the German player vs IA (all objectives captured) was using railroads to shuttle rested infantry up to the Minsk area. Upon then playing under advanced rules, to my ...

Noob's question about road graphics mod

<t> This game is addicting. Brings back fond memories of the Avalon Hill board games I used to love as a kid, and those SSG computer games of the 80s.<br/>
<br/>
Anyway I like the graphics of v3.4 but the roads do not have enough contrast for my eyes. I often struggle to pick out possible routes ...
