RE: Catalina 5(A) vs. Liberator PB4Y-1

<t> Hmmm,<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
PDU is on, so technically I´m free to swap.<br/>
<br/>
I´m in March 1943, and I have about 90 Catalinas model 5 and 5A in reserve. PB4Y-1 stocks are nearing 70. Just from the numbers I doubt that I will ever get into a shortage of Catalinas again. But as the ...

Catalina 5(A) vs. Liberator PB4Y-1

<t> Hiya,<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
are there any objections against replacing Catalinas in VB-xxx squads equipped with Catalinas and trained for naval search for PB4Y-1 Liberators? From just comparing stats the Lib seems to be much sturdier, and also having a slightly larger range. Both a/c are equipped ...

RE: HQ choice buying out units in Dec 41

Ehm Hans,

true regarding the issue of combining units. The original post referred to HQ bonuses solely, and for that issue the assignment doesn´t matter [;)].

RE: HQ choice buying out units in Dec 41

The actual HQ assignment doesn´t matter at all to receive bonuses. You just need the HQ inside the appropriate ranges. There have been numerous threads about this topic already.

RE: Patch 07 - Unofficial Public Beta - 1123x9 updated 28 June 2014

The latest beta patch (available from the first post in this thread) contains all previous patches, and is enough to update from the last official patch.

RE: Setting patrol points request

<t> In addition to the original request, it would be also great if we could define waypoints in combination with a patrol area. Sometimes it is necessary to avoid the straightest way to the patrol area by going around certain chokepoints. ATM I do need to define a destination, and later on remember ...

Hmm,

the only game I remember (vagely) is the old Microprose "Destroyer Escort" game back from the 90s. I never heared of anything newer than that.

RE: Training question

Well, I didn´t see any ops losses as well. The only difference that range=0 makes is that even at 100% training the fatigue stays at 0 or 1. Which can be of importance if you need to get the squad into service without delay.

Effects of Air HQs and their command range

<t> Hello,<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
please correct me if I´m wrong: I know that Air HQs have some effects on air groups, such as attack coordination, ability to upgrade, supply of torpedoes etc. AS far as I also know, they project these abilities at least to the range of their command radius to other ...

RE: Dutch air force

<t> Buy out the Catalina groups and fly them out, or disband them. The dutch Catalina production lasts for a very long time into the war, and those groups are a much needed addition to your patrol force. I use them in the India theater, where supply with british Catalinas is mediocre at best. It´s ...

Hello wegman58,

there seems to be some airframe fatigue, but in 4 PBEMs with hundreds of turns I have yet to loose more than 2-3 airframes (in total!) during training. So this really is not a factor ...

Ahhh,

thnx for the clarification. Are there any other stacking limits for the replenishment role? Or could I really fill them up to the 200% upper limit?

RE: CVE overloaded

Thanks for Info, Alfred. So this means that the CVEs the allied player gets from fall 1942 (those with 2 replenishment groups with 24/28 planes each) will have to send one group off-board to function in their replenishment role?

I highly assume that the answer is "no", but I´ll ask anyway :) : Do they work also if the CVE is disbanded in port?
