Famous victory at Harrisonburg

<r> The following is the official report of General Palmer to our commander, General MT Georgia, on the victory won by Union forces at Harrisonburg:<br/> <br/> To: Lt. Gen. M.T. Georgia<br/> Re: Action North of Harrisonburg: Report of 8th Division/1st U.S. Corps<br/> Brig. Gen. William J. Palmer rep...

RE: Question

Did you occupy the objective(s) with a commander and the required number of troops? Only by doing this will the objective become yours and start accruing points for you. The objective will display your side's flag when you hold it.

RE: CV 14 - Forward To the Heights!!!

<t> Thanks for this great AAR. It's made me want to try this scenario next. It will be nice to have an enemy in plain sight, not hidden in trees!<br/> <br/> BTW, allies (such as the brigade off to your left) will hardly ever intervene. You can send off 'I need support' messages to your CO and that s...

RE: Installing as Stand-alone

<t> +1 for the 'flarepath' intro screen.<br/> <br/> I was going to suggest that future map packs / games have one of these as I prefer it to the plain list of battles. Then I discover that CV does have one, but only if you're buying it as a standalone. I agree it's a small detail, but a shame that t...

RE: Great Game & Expected Frustration

<r> RCH gave a reply on another thread that, I hope, may help with your frustrations, Yogi. I'll quote most relevant bits: <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>ORIGINAL: RCH<br/> .... if you use the Courier&Maps mod, the game will pause while you use the written order courier screen<br/> <br/> The only drawback...

RE: Possible to ask for help through courier?

<t> @Budd. If you want to always use couriers, use 'Custom' difficulty and set Couriers to 'Brigade and above'. Then, when you give an order, it will be acted on immediately only if you are within shouting distance of the flag of the commander or unit you are giving order to. In all other cases, a c...

RE: Question on control/courier...

<t> To double-check, I just tried your first method, using point and click on the command map, and my regiments marched off in columns, got to their destination and formed up in line. I was a brigade commander. I am just trying it again as a division commander and all my regiments are marching along...

RE: Jolly Terrain Mod

<t> I have just downloaded Jolly's Antietam Trees and Terrain mod (sorry that name is approximate!), loaded it up and it works beautifully in 1.5.<br/> <br/> Maybe try this one?<br/> <br/> BTW, I earlier tried Jolly's Terrain mod and it looked no different to stock. Now I realise the mod wasn't work...

RE: Jolly Terrain Mod

<t> Probably silly question - Have you double clicked the name of the mod so it has a yellow square next to it, and then clicked on the check mark at the bottom of the Modification screen?<br/> <br/> If you have, it should be working. <br/> <br/> OTOH, I'm not sure how dramatic a change it brings ab...

RE: New to this series - some questions

<r> It's very, very good, IMO.<br/> <br/> Single-Player is excellent and includes many scenarios and sandbox games. Many people play only SP.<br/> There are good tutorials, at increasing levels of complexity.<br/> The manual is good, and the community even better. <br/> It's great fun and the interf...
