Re: LRCAP of naval ships with Army aircraft vs. Navy aircraft

I recall the same, although I don't have a solid source.

I think the theory was that the Army wasn't trained to track moving targets away from land, or something like that.

Re: Question on SAM's Altitude

I'm curious.

I'm playing a Community scenario called "Enough is Enough."

The target area is protected by SA-22 SAMs which, according to the database, has a weapon ceiling of 25000 feet.

My planes are no lower than 36000 feet.

The land elevation is less than 1000 feet.

The SA-22 still shot at ...

Re: Chinese surrender

I don't think they do surrender. The Japanese player must capture all of the Chinese bases to control China.

If you capture the Chinese main base and the alternate base (I can't recall the names right now), I think Chinese reinforcements start appearing in India.

Someone feel free to correct or ...

Is Truk considered an atoll in-game? I just looked and it is not marked as such on the hover message.

Playing stock scenario 1.

Re: PT/MTB effectiveness

There's not a lot you can do with these, strategy-wise. Check your commanders and make sure they have at least decent leadership. I wouldn't put Halsey or Nimitz in charge, but high aggression and naval skills.

Re: How Can I stop Shock Attacking?

Don't invading units On an atoll lose their supply at the end of each day?
If so, they will not be able to build up any additional supply.

Or was that rule changed in some update?

Re: Fighters on escort mission

My sense here is, the OP's real question is:

Will a fighter set to Sweep perform in combat better, worse, or the same as the same fighter set to Escort?

Gratch, feel free to correct me or elaborate further.

For what it's worth, my answer is, I suspect the Sweeping fighter will do better in combat.

Re: Why can't I withdraw these ships from Sydney?

How long have the ships been in Sydney? It might take a turn for them to register once they arrive.

Run another turn and see if they will withdraw. If not, as the Admiral says, screenshots of the ship screens might help.

I've been hoping climate change hasn't washed away or burned away Cap's neighbourhood! But I think he may just be extra busy with work. Maybe PG (TM) or SG (TM) could take over his AAR for a while, at least for the exchange of crazy thoughts ...

Alas, PG is gone, right? Isn't that the neighbor ...

Okay, if you want a little more verbosity . . .

The answer for the question that you have asked is simplicity itself as long as the AE and/or AKE has enough supplies available, is in the same hex as the requesting aircraft carrier vessel, the ...

Re: DAMAGED SHIPS

Consider your situation - Is the ship at high risk of being bombed and sunk in port by the enemy? If she is relatively safe, then slow repair is better than none. The good news is, most, if not all, system damage will repair without a shipyard.

How far away is the next (bigger) port? If you think ...

Re: bombard, tooltip questions

What ships are in your bombardment task force? Is that a river hex? If so, you won't be able to move BBs into the hex.

Destroyers...British Task Force 433.

Not a river Hexside. Open to Large ships.
Battleships can go all the way to Canton.

The Destroyers cut off in Hong Kong on December 7 ...

Great to see this get updated and partnering with a publisher. I do hope they have fixed their license/registration system. I loved both 1 and 2, but registering was a major pain in the ***.

If so, you have my sale!
