For modern Japanese (and thus the kids playing by it) it is a relic of a era gone by. So while there are nice descriptions (in Japanese) by the little park it is in, it is not...holy ground ...

Watching japanese get rip roaring drunk under the cherry blossoms is a rather funny spectator sport.

I plead the 5th... Some of those dives should never been seen in public.
