First turn after mud

<t> My appreciated generals [:)]<br/>

Is it true that the russians are weaker the first turn after mud? Once a german player told me they fight under mud conditions while the germans fight their first clear turn after mud - which is not true. But niw he thinks they need more time (one ore ...

RE: Taking Moscow

Moscow is a very critical city for the russians. Usually the factories will be evacuated before the city falls but Moscow also has plenty of manpower points and it is a very important railway hub. If the russians loose Moscow it is very difficult for them to win the game

Always try to keep combat units in supply range to HQ and within 4 hexes of it, if it's not Corps (Axis) or Army (Soviet).

Supply by cities

<t> Two questions concerning supply:<br/>
<br/>
If the Germans have taken Odessa, their supply in the south will be much better, right? If I understand the manual rightly, this harbour can be used as railhead. If so - does it work immediatly or does damaged harbour means no or reduced supply?<br ...

RE: How am I doing?

I would say in the north you have chosen the wrong rail line to repair. I usually have gone via Riga or the line between Riga and the one you have repaired.

my instinct is that nothing can improve Soviet performance in the first four turns, you're OOB will be in chaos as units and HQs are all over the place, so I really wouldn't waste admin pts moving SUs to the Corps.

SHC - SU for Krps HQ

<t> In the early turns of the great war the russians use KrpsHQ wich will be disbanded later on. I am wondering if it would be reasonalbe to give them SU which will be sent to the ArmyHQ the KrpsHQ is linked to, when the KrpsHQ is being disbanded.<br/>

A "horrible 2.0 Red Army" is one that can't kick the Axis butt back to Berlin in time. Usually because the Soviets were not able to save sufficient industry in 41/42, ran out of trucks for supply, or just did not build the right mixture for their ...

RE: Lvov Pocket and mild winter rules

<t> Oha... I have thought the problems of killing commanders by excessive HQ bombing were solved in a former version! This indeed is a matter that should be solved by the mechanic of the game or by houserules... I knew about the problem that some players have cut raillines far behind the front but I ...

Version .08 seems to be very intersting stuff. But in the past we had some discussions in the forums of problems that came up because of new versions (like the moral matter some time ago), that had to be solved with another new version. So I am a bit carefull ...

RE: Lvov Pocket and mild winter rules

What do you mean with a "horrible 2.0 Red Army"?

And why wouldnt you bomb HQ and why do you abstain from para drops? Both sides have paratroops so why a rule that forbids using them?

house rules - is WitE imbalanced?

<t> The current discussion about Lvov, mild winter and other houserules makes me wondering if WitE really is imbalanced so it is needed to balance it by houserules... In principle I am a friend of short contracts instead of long and difficult agreements.<br/>
