Can confirm, they seem to get stuck in the docking process somehow if they're "unfocused" - IE, if you're not zoomed in on them and they're being simulated in the background. It makes any ships with fighters essentially useless because they won't jump until you zoom in on them.

It seems to me it should depend on how the game’s logic for tourist demand works. My gut instinct is that having two potential tourist destinations (the planet and the base) instead of just one would tend to increase the total amount of tourist traffic. And, who covers the costs of resort bases? If ...

Do your ships have Ion Shielding?

Ships without proper Shielding will get Stuck in Ion and Gravitic Storms. And Home Systems are always in at least one of the two.
While teh T3 Ion Sheat Armor is enough, the Designer only Auto-installs the much bigger Ion Shield component.

Saw the same thing for another late game story site inside a nebula. It has 90% suitability and is right next door to my other colonies but still "outside range", which is set to 300M. Similarly, the auto-queue commands for various orbital bases inside nebula systems also claim they're "beyond ...

My experience has been the opposite, at least with 2000 stars.

By mid-late game on a 2060, turning on pretty much any overlay will drop the framerate to an unplayable stutter, sub-5fps.

This was an issue even with DW1 and I really am not sure what can be done about it. So many of the sources of income are irregular and unpredictable, I don't know how you can reliably correlate them into a meaningful trend.

Also the Boskarans are out of control in my game, they're threatening us with overwhelming power, have subjugated countless races and yet between the time we began war to the time I was able to get a strike group to their worlds, their reputation has gone from -35 (evil) to 0 (neutral) and my people ...

Tried changing the range myself in a components definition xml I found but it doesn't seem to take in-game...

Oh well, guess I'll have to wait for the next patch to wipe out the Boskarans threatening to overrun us.
