Re: Plane started going in circles on way home
Using 1662 this happened again. The plane was on the home when it started circling again. It is circling and NOT around a waypoint. At the same time the FAILED AUTO SAVE message pops up, just like I reported before. I tried to save the scenario, and it indicates that it is saved, but when you re-ope...

Re: Plane started going in circles on way home
Re-ran the scenario and it worked fine. The only difference that I saw was when the scenario that failed was running, the plane attacked the four buildings, and then turned left when heading home. In the scenario where it worked, it turned right. I doubt that this has anything to do with the issue. ...

Re: [WAD][1328.15] WAD? Aircraft, has "LOST CONTROL"
I can tell you that it was a straight bomb run, and there were no dazzlers, or anything else. There was no reason to do what it did.
It's a brand new computer, and the only thing installed is CMO, and the files that came with the computer. Lots of HD space is available.

Re: Plane started going in circles on way home
I'll try to recreate it. The game wouldn't save. That's why I let it play out.
What does "LOST CONTROL" mean? That might provide a hint as to what is going on? Is it that the MISSION has no control over the plane? Or, is it something else, like the pilot fell asleep? <lol>

Plane started going in circles on way home
Screenshot (2).png This plane was coming back from an attack where it destroyed 4 buildings with 4 missiles. Everything was fine until it reached this point where it started going around in a circle. There is no way point at this location, and if you look closely the aircraft says LOST CONTROL Does...

Re: [Fixed] Stated Loadout Altitude overrides Designed Flight Path's Altitude
Hi, great work on everything. If you are saying that the plane that has finished its mission will NOT enter a No Nav Zone on the way home (if it's in its way) and has been fixed, then I believe that you are wrong as I am looking at it do so. The game's AI drew the original path around the No Nav Zon...

Re: Stated Loadout Altitude overrides Designed Flight Path's Altitude
FYI, this was not fixed. Perhaps it wasn't slated to be. In any case, the striking plane continues to ignore the No Nav Zone on the flight home. Fuel is not an issue, and the dotted path can clearly be seen that the plane "intended" to fly on the path that it came and what was expected. Ab...

Re: disobeying no-nav zone
This is what I wrote in another thread about planes ignoring the no nav zone.
As you can see with this save, the plane headed DIRECTLY for its base after conducting the attack. What's interesting here is the path home goes directly through a No Nav Zone.

Re: Stated Loadout Altitude overrides Designed Flight Path's Altitude
After firing their ordinance, the plane always wants to climb to 36k feet for its journey home. This will often get him killed. Again, fuel is NOT an issue, so that is not why it's climbing. As you can see with this save, the plane headed DIRECTLY for its base after conducting the attack. What's in...

Re: Overshoot missiles prevent the following attack until petered out
I believe that this is also true for all missiles which are controlled by radar, or some kind of guidance. For example, the RIM-161E comes to mind. That is the long range anti-ballistic missile. If it fires and misses, it will continue to fly for a total of 1650 miles, taking up some controller slot...

Re: Stated Loadout Altitude overrides Designed Flight Path's Altitude
(Note: The first file is actually an Ingress, not an Egress, as it is labeled.) If an error occurs on the Ingress, it is almost always associated with the addition of a Waypoint to the AI's original path. Additional Waypoints always seem to throw things off, even if they are properly named. If you a...

Re: Stated Loadout Altitude overrides Designed Flight Path's Altitude
Sorry, I forgot the saves. In the first, the plane refuses to climb to 16k, which is needed to fire the weapons. If you manually change it, then it will climb, and fire as expected. Path Egress Altitude Issue 1.zip In the second, after firing, the plane remains at 16k feet, and will not drop down to...

[Fixed] Stated Loadout Altitude overrides Designed Flight Path's Altitude
This seems to occur with every plane in every situation. Example: Israeli F-15I is loaded with 8 GBU-39 glide bombs. The Weapon Loadout indicates that the plane flies at 36k feet, attacks at 36k feet, and returns at 36k feet. (Hi-Hi-Hi) The weapon itself indicates that it must be dropped at a minimu...

[FIXED] CAP doesn't change altitude when investigating
No Altitude Change.zip This is a simple example. The Israeli planes are patrolling on a CAP mission, when this unidentified plane enters their prosecution zone. They are initially at 43k feet. The Israeli planes properly change course, and make several passes by the unidentified plane, but they can...

Scenarios Designed With Intricate Flight Planning
I thoroughly enjoy the LIVE: Operation Broken Shield scenario because the Israeli side has such intricate flight plans for its attack on Syria. The flight planner is involved in all facets of the operation (strike, CAP, re-fueling, etc.). Does anyone have and recommendations for any other scenarios ...

Re: [DB ERROR] Question about the Rampage's Altitude
FYI.....if you play Operation Broken Shield (for example), using its latest db (which is 504), the RAMPAGE does climb to altitude like a ballistic missile. Sometime after 504 it was changed. Hopefully this info helps. BTW....ALL of the Syrian DECOY units are actively firing. I'm not sure if that is ...

Re: Question about the Rampage's Altitude
I tried it with both the F-15I and the F-16I and it did the same thing. It was fired at very low altitude, and it stayed that way right on into the target. Additionally, I tried the loadout with ROCKS instead of RAMPAGE, and it worked as expected. It climbed and then dove down on the target as I wou...

[DB ERROR] Question about the Rampage's Altitude
The Rampage ALBM is listed as having a H-Lo-Hi attack profile. According to the WRA it is supposed to dash in toward the target and minimum altitude and be released at max distance. It doesn't say what altitude. The last "Hi" part, to me, seems as though the weapon is supposed to be launch...

Re: Question on Flight plan and airborne refuelling not happening
It is my belief that a single plane strike with a refuel (if completed following the appropriate procedures) seems to work perfectly most of the time. The success rate when groups of planes (more than one plane) are introduced is low, and it seems to produce the majority (if not all) of the refuelin...

Re: Question on Flight plan and airborne refuelling not happening
In my opinion, refueling is a bit of a difficult task to perfect. There are many facets of it that could potentially be the problem I just ran several more refueling tests. I started with a single plane, and set up a refueling segment before the attack. To me, this seems to work very well. (BTW, alw...
